Chapter two: Mission Couple

three weeks after becoming Bucky's girlfriend, we were sent on a mission together. "Mikayla? did you hear what I said? you and Barnes will be on your own for this one. backup will be provided, if needed." I sighed. "yes I heard you dad. when do we leave?" I could see Bucky smirking. "tonight." Bucky had walked away by this point, so I followed. "you ok?" he stopped outside his room. "yeah. just gonna pack. when are we leaving?" I was smiling like a twit. "tonight." he turned and looked at me. "tonight?" I nodded. "yep. luckily, I've already packed our bags. I'll grab the car keys, and we can go now if you want." checking to see if anyone was around, he kissed me. "I love it when you take charge doll." I giggled, before heading into my room, grabbing the bags, and heading back downstairs. "dad. I'm gonna take the Dodge. we're gonna leave now, so we can take our time. I'll check in, once we reach the hotel." grabbing the keys to MY Dodge, I took the bags out and waited for Bucky. "Mmm. my girl's driving her rig. what did I ever do to deserve a hot chick, that drives a sexy rig?" laughing, we got in and started her up. "you just fell in love with the right girl." smiling, he placed his hand on my leg.

the drive to the hotel took about three hours. "oh nice. thank you daddy." Bucky laughed. the room was huge. "I'm just gonna let dad know we're here and ok." I took a photo of the room, and sent it in a text to my dad. 'at the hotel now. settling in. will message in the morning. thanks dad. love u. nite xx' hitting send, Bucky wrapped his arms around me. "feel like a shower doll? or do you wanna order dinner first?" 'glad ur safe. have a good sleep. tell Barnes to keep his hands to himself. love u too. nite sweeite.' reading the part about Bucky keeping his hands to himself, caused us both to laugh. "if only he knew." we planned on telling dad and everyone, after this mission. "dinner sounds good. then a shower." smiling then kissing my nose, we headed inside and ordered dinner. "sweet and sour beef, greek salad, croutons and a rum a coke please. that's one order. second one is a mega meat lovers pizza, salted carmel fudge sundae and another rum and coke please. room 21 Scarlet Dennings." I loved how he just knew my order by heart. "done. it'll take about 15 minutes. what? what's that look for?" without warning, I lunged for him. "I love how you know my order by heart. it's sexy." not giving him a chance to respond, I kissed him passionately. "doll. you if we start this we won't be able to stop." I deepened the kiss in response.

well he was wrong about one thing. we were able to stop. just in time for dinner. "I want our first time together to be special doll." hearing him say that, just made me love him more. "so do I. I love you Bucky Barnes." he leaned over and kissed me. "I love you too Mikayla Stark Barnes." I choked on my beef. "what did you just call me?" he chuckled. "I said, I love you too Mikayla Stark Barnes." I smiled. "I thought that's what you said. are you asking me to marry you Buck?" smiling slowly, he got up and came over to me. "Mikayla. we've been through so much. you have always been by myside. always made things easier for me. you helped me through my darkest times. I can't imagine my life without you. will you do me the extraordinary honor, of becoming my wife?" squealing, I lunged at him again and kissed him. "a thousand times yes." chuckling, Bucky slid the ring onto my finger. looking at it, I noticed it had both mine and Bucky's birthstones inside a silver and black heart. "I love it Buck. I love you so much." I couldn't believe it. I was engaged to Bucky. looking at my soon to be husband, I felt noting but love for him. he was my soulmate. "what are you thinking doll?" Bucky was gently stroking my hair while we ate. "just how much I love you and can't wait to marry you." chuckling softly, he tucked a stray hair behind my ear. "I can't wait to marry you either doll. we just gotta work out how to tell your dad, that not only are we dating, but now engaged." I smiled. "I'll take him out tomorrow night, and tell him. I know he'll be happy for us. he might be a little cranky at first, but he'll come around."

finishing up with dinner, we went for a shower. turning the shower on, I turned and saw Buck in all his glory. and let's just say damn. "you right there my love?" chuckling, he got into the shower. "yep. you coming?" smiling and shaking my head, I followed. the warm water felt amazing. Bucky wrapped his arms around me from behind, as the water washed over us. "Mmm. now I could get used to this." leaning my head on his chest, I closed my eyes. "so could I." reaching for the body wash and loafer, Bucky washed my back. "that feels amazing babe." placing soft kisses along my shoulders, he worked his hands to my front. "how about this doll?" rolling my head back onto him, I moaned softly. "Mmm. yes." he slowly worked his way down. "what about this?" he knew what he was doing to me. "yes. don't stop Buck." smiling against my back, he kept going. "I wasn't planning on stopping doll. not till you beg me to." he gently massaged my body with one hand, while the other was gently around my neck. "what do you say we rinse off, and continue this in the room?" moaning softly, I allowed Bucky to wash us both off, turn off the water, and carry me into the room.

to say I was on cloud nine, would've been an understatement. "tell me if you want me to stop doll. this is all about you baby." I let Bucky take the lead. "keep doing what you are." he planted kisses gently all over my body, sending me into a frenzy. "you sure doll? you're squirming a bit." he was right about that. "I'm fine. just not used to being shown love this deeply and meaningfully." Bucky looked up at me. "really? like never?" I shook my head. "never." he gently kissed my lips. "well I'm glad I'm the first and last doll. you deserve so much." how did I end up with such a loving man? sinking back into the pillows, I let Bucky take me away.

that was the first night, we both slept soundly all night. not one nightmare. "good morning wife." stretching out, I moaned. "Mmm good morning husband." taking me into his arms, we laid in silence. "have a good sleep?" rolling into his embrace, I rested my head on his bare chest. "the best. you?" "amazing. I slept next to an angel, who kept me safe all night." I smiled. whenever Bucky slept either in my room or in my bed, he always slept soundly. "I'm glad she did. cause I need you here with me. we've got our mission today. I better check in with dad, and get the details. can you order coffee and breakfast please?" smiling and sitting up, Bucky grabbed his phone. "anything for you doll." I headed out to the balcony, and called my dad. "hey kiddo. how was your night? Barnes behave himself?" I smiled. "it was good. yes he did. what are the mission details?" I looked back into the room, to see Bucky walking around buck naked. "you and Barnes scope out the abandoned warehouse. get as many details as you can. once clear, set up a perimeter and call me. we'll then head in and make our presence known." the warehouse dad was talking about, was once an old Hydra building. at first I was about Bucky going back there, but he'd been in therapy for a while and was doing well. "can do. when do you want us to head out?" Bucky signaled that breakfast was here. "as soon as you can please. the sooner we secure the warehouse the better." I had to smile. Bucky was acting like he was dying. "we'll head out after breakfast. talk soon dad. love you." "talk soon sweetie. be careful. love you too." I hung up the phone and burst out laughing. "you are such a dork." I sat on the bed beside him, and had my coffee. "yes but I am your dork." smiling, he kissed my cheek. I was going to marry this man. I wanted to ask about kids, but decided against it, as I was enjoying the moment. plus I think it might be too soon. I mean we just got together and engaged, all in three weeks. "when do we head out?" I made another coffee. "after breakfast. dad said to scope it out, set up a perimeter, then call them in. are you sure you're gonna be ok babe?" he knew I was still worried about his Hydra past coming back. "I'll be fine doll. if t gets too much, I will let you know."

"all clear south side. how about you doll?" I took a step around the corner of the north side. "all clear north side. now to check west and east sides." I could feel someone watching us. that had me worried. no-one was supposed to know we were here. "I'll get east if you get west?" I couldn't shake the feeling of being watched. "sounds good. meet at 5 o'clock." I wanted this to be over, and for my dad and the team to be here. this was starting to worry me. clearing the west side, I headed to our meeting point. my heart was racing, as I rounded the corner. seeing Bucky stand there safely, I let out a sigh of relief and ran to him. "you ok doll?" I shook my head and kept scanning around us. "no. I got the feeling we are being watched. better call dad and the team, just to make sure." "good idea. I'll keep lookout." "dad. all clear. I'm getting the sense we are being watched though. what's your eta?" "hey kiddo. hang tight. we are five out." I relaxed a little as I hung up. "they're five out." I held my gun up, as I scanned around us. "good." I knew that when dad said they were five out, he meant it. "in coming. 2 o'clock." I smiled. 'told you we were five out. thank you for looking after my daughter Barnes.' I smiled and quickly squeezed Bucky's hand. 'didn't doubt you for a second Tony. my pleasure.' I was hoping that when I told my dad about Bucky and I, that he'd be ok. 'Rogers. you and Hulk take south. Nat you and Clint take north. I'll take west. Mikayla you and Barnes take east.' we all headed to our assigned locations.

after we'd gotten back to the tower, I pulled my dad aside. "hey dad. are we able to go out and get a bite to eat? just you and I? there's something I wanna talk to you about." there was a look in his eyes, that made me think he might have an idea already. "sure kiddo. I'll just grab the keys." I sent a text to Bucky. 'hey babe. dad and I r heading out. won't be long. I love you.' dad came back, smiling. "ok. let's go." 'all good baby. I'll c u soon. I love u too.' "oh by the way, nice ring kiddo." s**t. my engagement ring! "dad I was going to tell you." we walked out to his Porsche. "who is it? Barnes?" s**t. "yes. we wanted to tell you." he looked at me. "I'm not pissed kiddo. I'm glad it's him. when did he propose?" I was shocked. "um last night. so you're ok with me and Bucky being together?" he smiled. "of course. is that why you and I are going out? you were going to tell me about you and Barnes?" I smiled. "yes. plus I wanted to spend some time with you." I sent another text to Bucky. 'so dad noticed my ring and worked out I'm engaged to you. he's not pissed. just gonna grab a bite then we'll be back.' dad was smiling. "I had a feeling there was something going on with the two of you. sneaking into each other's rooms late at night. Bucky's jacket and shirt in your bathroom. you smelling like his aftershave." I swear I turned bright red. "haha relax kiddo. I'd be happy to have Bucky as a son in law. as long as he makes you happy, then I'm happy." 'I was gonna say u had forgotten to take it off. I'm glad he's ok. I'll c u soon my love xx'
