The door swung open from the force, and I was pushed inside by the guards. My heart raced with fear and anxiety and I couldn't stop myself from thinking about those rumors.

Alpha Adonis was said to be as cruel as he was handsome, and I couldn't help but wonder if the stories were true. And then, I saw him. Tall, imposing, with a cold aura that sent shivers down my spine, he stood before me, and his piercing ocean-blue eyes bored into mine.

I felt a jolt of electricity run through my body, my wolf stirring for the first time in a while.

"Alpha, here she is," one of the guards said.

My heart drummed against my ear as I swallowed the lumps in my throat. I tried to speak, to apologize, to beg for mercy, but my voice was caught in my throat. All I could do was stare, my eyes locked with Adonis's chiseled face and I couldn't stop myself from staring.

He was just as handsome as they had said. He was glaring at me with a cold gaze that made me shiver and I knew I should stop staring at him the way I was, but I couldn't bring myself to look away.

He looked so perfect.

"So, you're the Omega who dared to hurt one of my men," he said, his deep voice sending ripples through my very being.

I swallowed hard, trying to find my voice, but it was stuck, trapped in my throat like a bird in a cage. "I… I didn't mean to, Alpha," I stammered, my eyes still locked with his. My heart raced with fear and something else, something I couldn't quite explain.

And then, his gaze narrowed, his eyes piercing through me like a sharp blade. "You didn't mean to?" he repeated, his tone dripping with disgust.

I felt a flush rise to my cheeks as I tried to explain, my words tumbling out in a rush. "I… was scared… I didn't mean to hurt anyone, I just panicked," I trembled as I recalled how I fought a man while trying to escape the troops before someone knocked me out from behind.

That must have been the Macus the guards were talking about.

Alpha Adonis raised an eyebrow, his expression unreadable, but his eyes seemed to bore deeper into mine as if searching for something. "Scared?" he repeated, his voice low and husky, sending shivers down my spine. "You think you're scared now? You have no idea what scared is, Elle."

How did he know my name?

I felt a lump form in my throat as I gazed up at him, my heart was beating so fast out of fear and something else, something that made me feel alive, something that made me want to reach out and touch him, to feel his power and dominance for myself.

Just then, My wolf jolted in excitement as she screamed. "Mate!"

My eyes widened as I glanced at Alpha Adonis and his face twitched in disgust as if he could feel the same connection with me.

"What should we do with her, Alpha? We are sending out a few slaves tonight. Should we add her to the list?" One of the guards asked beside me and I shook my head frantically.

Sending out slaves? My stomach clenched as I remembered what the pack was popular for. Slave trade. There is no way Alpha Adonis would sell me, right? He is my second chance mate, he won't sell me, right?

I stared at Alpha Adonis as sweat began to form on my forehead. He must have felt the same connection as me. Why isn't he saying anything? He wasn't considering the idea, right?

I closed my eyes, begging my star to help me once again. I don't know which was worse. Becoming Alpha Adonis's mate or getting sold as a slave. A tear streamed down my face at the cruel realization. None sounds appealing if I am being honest with myself.

"This one would be my slave," his voice was laced with venom and I couldn't hold back the tears that streamed down my face.

I am doomed for real.

"Take her away until I think of what to do to her," he ordered and the guards began to drag me out. Just before they opened the door, he spoke again, making us stop right on track.

"When I am done with you, you will curse the day you become my mate," he said coldly, confirming my curiosity. He knew exactly who I was.
