Catherine   Weeks have passed since I came back to the Philippines. I became so busy working in the hospital. I really thought I’m going to miss working in London but not really. It feels at home here. My colleagues are not hard to get along.   I always took two shifts a day, which makes Hendrix worried about me so much. He thinks I might suddenly faint or get over fatigue because of working too much. But I always told him that to let me do what I want. I love my work. I love what I’m doing.   This past few days I rarely see Tristan. Hendrix said that maybe Tristan was too busy with work.   Gio and I always meet whenever there’s a chance. I already introduce him to Hendrix and they easily clicked together. I’m really happy about it.   I'm preparing for surgery right now. In any minutes it will begin. I really want the surgery to be a success because my patient right now is too young. Too young to gone, I know there’s a wonderful future ahead of her.   After the surgery, I went out of OR and I welcomed by the parents of my patient.   “How’s my daughter, Doc?” the father asked. His wife is on his side. Her eyes were swollen from crying.   I smiled. “The operation went well, it was a success. You don’t have to worry. Your daughter is out of danger now. She will be transferred to a private room and she will wake up maybe between forty-eight to seventy-two hours from now.” I happily informed them.   The mother crying while nodding her head. “Thank you so much doc. Thank you for my daughter.”   “It’s my job ma’am. You don’t need to thank me. It's my job ma'am.” I said and excuse myself.   I was so tired when I went back to my office. The operation lasted for six long hours.   I sit on my chair. I moved my head left to right so I can stretch my muscles due to numbness. I notice my phone is blinking. I stretch my arm to reach for my cellphone.   As I scroll the messages, a lot came from Gio, I open the message and he’s asking when is my next leave. I respond to him and check again the message. There’s one message that came from Hendrix so I open it immediately.   And I felt my world stop when I read the message.   My eyesight starts to get blurry.   I immediately get out of my office as I dialed Hendrix's number.     *****   Nick   Bryle, Damien and I are going to the St. Mary’s Hospital. We’re going there because Nathaniel called us that Tristan got into a road accident. He drunk drive.   When we arrived at the hospital we immediately went to his private room. We don’t need to ask the information because Nathaniel already informed us what is Tristan’s private room number. We went inside a private room and we saw Tristan laying on the bed while talking to his cousin, Hendrix Del Valle.   I know him way back before in high school, Tristan introduce him to us. I often saw him in events and the exclusive parties that I’m attending too.   I even notice that he is wearing a wedding ring. I didn’t know that he’s married. It’s impossible that it will not be on the news. He’s a very well-known businessman in the country, not just in the country but also in Asia and other parts of Europe.   Hendrix looks on our direction and he nods his head. So, we did the same too. He turned back his gaze to Tristan again and they start to talk.   My friends and I sit down on the sofa. In front of Tristan’s bed and we will not going to see the people who will enter this room.   “What happen?” Bryle asks Nathaniel.   Nathaniel heaved out a deep sighed. “We were at the bar—”   I cut him off. “What? Early in the afternoon and you’re already at the bar.” I told him.   Nathaniel's brows met. “Not my fault. That asshole…” his finger pointed Tristan. “don’t stop pestering me if I didn’t go with him. I don’t have a choice but to go with him, he’s causing too much tantrum early in the morning inside my office.” He says and looks so annoyed.   “Why did he want to drink so early?” Damien asks.   Nathaniel sigh. “Woman problem!”   I was about to ask about it but I stop when a phone ring.   We look at the direction where it coming from and I saw it came from Hendrix phone.   He answers the call and we heard unintentionally that he told from the person he was talking to from the other line, Tristan’s room number. I think someone will coming.   After a while the room door opened, I can’t see her face but she was wearing a doctor's coat.   Maybe it was the doctor assigned to Tristan. But I was surprised when the doctor runs to Tristan and hug him tightly. Tristan gets up and sits down from the bed. I can hear her crying.   Tristan hugged the doctor back. "Sweetheart, I’m alright..." Sweetheart? "Look at me! I’m fine, I just got a minor fracture." He added.   Hendrix went closer to the doctor too and gently caress her back. "Baby, calm down, Tristan is okay!"   The doctor let out of the hug. “I’m worried about you.” I feel a familiarity with her voice. It sent shivers to my nerve.   After a moment the doctor turned around.   I felt my world stop spinning when I saw her. I don’t know if my mind and my eyes are tricking me again.   I can’t believe that she’s here in front of me.   The woman that I’m waiting for. The only woman that I’m looking for more than a decade.
