Chapter 15

Catherine

Tristan is currently helping me right now on putting my clothes into a suitcase. Actually, it’s all new clothes. Hendrix got home last night with these new clothes for me. I was so embarrassed about it. He’s too kind to help someone like me that he didn’t know for a long time.

I looked at Tristan while he’s folding some of my clothes. “Are you really okay that Hendrix will go back to London with me?” I ask him this question numerous times. I don’t know why to ask this even though he said it was okay.

He chuckled. “As I told you a hundred times, it’s okay. Just don’t forget to text or call me to let me know how are you…” he paused and smile to me. “And don’t worry. I will be visiting you there frequently. I’m going to miss you so much.”

I nodded and smile back at him.

After we were done, Tristan went out of my room and told me that he will talk to Hendrix about something.

I stared at a phone that Tristan gave to me. He gave this to me so I can call him or text me whenever I want to talk to him or to see him.

I’ve been thinking of calling Nick but I know I’m not yet ready. I’m thinking who am I going to call. Until Gio came through my mind. I decided to call him. So, I dialed his number.

"Hello?" Gio answered.

"Hi, Gio!”

He became quiet for a second. I think he was surprised.

"OMG girl. Where are you? We’re looking for you. We heard what happened in your house and about the scandal—”

I cut him off. "Please, Gio stop it. I don’t want to hear anything about it." I plead to him.

"But Nick is---"

"Please, Gio!" I insist.

I heard him sighed in defeat… I guess! "Alright! I understand by the way where are you right now? I want to see you. How are you?"

"I'm ok. I’m in a safe place. But can’t tell you where I am right now."

"Fine. As long as you’re okay. It’s all I want for you. Gosh, Cath I miss you." 

I heaved a deep sighed. I need to tell him that I’m going away. "Actually, Gio I’m going to another country, I want to get away with everything. I want a fresh start and I don’t know when I will be back here. I hope you understand Gio."

He was silent for a moment. I don’t know if he will understand but I’m still hoping that he does.

"Do whatever you want. I understand perfectly, you need to have a new start. Just be safe and promise me that you will call me from time to time." His voice starts to sound like crying.

"Of course Gio. I promise."

Nick

I was staring at his cellphone. Thinking maybe she will contact me. I don't know where she was right now. Mom told me that the Montemayor exile Cath from their home. I felt guilty too that I pushed her away.

Nothing happens between me and Hannah when Cath saw her inside my room. Hannah followed me home and I don’t how do she get inside my room at that time.

I want to see Cath and explain everything about it, I know it’s too late for that.

And I don’t care about the photo scandal that she was involving too. Whether it’s true or not, all I want right now is to see her and to have her again.

My friends are helping me looking for her except Tristan. He was so mad at me about hurting Cath by kissing Hannah. And I feel guilty about it. I don’t know why I do that.

We’re currently on our hang out place. Even Tristan is also here.

"I need to find her." I said to my friends.

Tristan looked at me with irritation in his face. "What for? To hurt her again?" He asked.

I shook my head.

Damien hissed. "Tristan just shut your mouth bro."

"Then make me..." he smirked. "I hope you will never see her again. She doesn't deserve an asshole like you."

My jaw clenched. I was about to answer him back when I saw Brandon walking towards me.

"Nick, can I talk to you?" Brandon says when he arrived in front of me.

I ignore him so I can’t hit him. I’m still inside the campus. This is not the place for this. I thought he will walk away but he still speaks.

"Sorry, Nick. I can’t take it anymore. I don’t want this guiltiness inside me. Nothing... nothing happened between me and Cath that night." I look back at him. " It was all a set-up. We drugged Cath and took her to the Hotel... My accomplice undresses her to look like something happened between me and her. I swear I didn’t do anything to Cath other than that."

I felt I lose my senses because of it. I felt my world crumble as I heard everything from him.

I was back to my senses when suddenly Tristan stands up and hit Brandon hard.

"Tell them the name your accomplice or I will them everything...." Tristan said and look at me. "Yes, I knew the truth. Because unlike you, I investigate first before I assume anything." He told me like he knows my question in my mind.

I can’t protest because he is right.

Brandon wiped the blood from the side of his mouth before he speaks. "It-it’s Hannah.... she’s the mastermind. She made me do everything and I did because I like her a lot.” He confessed.

I immediately get up when I saw Hannah not far from where we are.

She sweetly smiled at me as she saw me approaching her. She holds my necktie and pulled me closer to her.

"Hey Nick! I miss you." She was about to touch my arm when I push her away from me. "What the hell?" She shouted.

"Don’t touch me! How dare you do that to me and to Cath?!" I shouted back. Making other student looks in our direction. I even saw my friends walking closer to me too.

She looks away and looks around. "I-I do-don’t know wh-what are you talking about.” she stutteringly says.

"Bro, don’t hurt her. She’s still a girl.” Bryle says behind me.  

My fist clenched to stop me from strangling her neck. "Brandon already spill everything... He says that you were the mastermind in everything. That you planned to set-up Cath. That everything was a lie."

She didn’t have time to defend her self when suddenly Gio came and slap her hard. “You b***h! How you do that to my best friend? You’re a w***e, I can’t believe that you could do stoop down this low. So, you can have this man.” He points his finger to me.

Arianna, Gio’s cousin trying to pull Gio away from Hannah. “Kuya Gio, let’s go.”

Gio shook his head. "No! I’m not yet done with this b***h!" he shouted as a tear fell down from his eye. “It’s all your fault. You ruined my best friend that’s why she’s leaving and can’t even say when will she come back.”

I turned to Gio. “She’s leaving? To where? You know where she is right now?”

Gio’s face becomes angrier as he looks at me. “I don’t know where is right now and even if I did won’t tell you about it. It’s also you’re fault. You didn’t trust her enough, her love for you. You didn’t even give her a chance to explain everything.  She’s innocent in all of this.” And he turned around and walk away.

But I followed him. "Gio! Please tell where she is.” I beg.

“Didn’t you hear what I said. I don’t know! She just called me last night and told me that she was going away from here to have a new life and move on.” He was sobbing. “And all I can do now is to wait for her because she promised me that she will be back.” He whispered and walk away again.

I walk back to my friends again. I can’t think straight while still thinking about everything. Why did I let this happen?

Catherine… My babe. I’m sorry for not trusting you. For not believing in your love for me.

I can’t control my emotion and I start to cry as my shoulder start to trembling too.

I’m so late. Too late to say sorry to everything All I can do now is also to wait for her. I will believe in her promise to Gio that she will back. It doesn’t matter how long. I will wait for her.
