CHAPTER 44Josyff stood up hastily, almost knocking the chair over. Esyal, by contrast, rose from her kneeling position quite slowly, at the same time moving away from him so that he did not stand between her and Adroyan. By not resting her hands on her knees for support she seemed almost to rise up out of the floor and was balanced and steady throughout. Josyff was tongue-tied again.
