After an eventful night, I slept like a log in Theo’s protective embrace. However, when I woke up the next morning, he was nowhere to be found. All that was left on the bed was the indentation of his body and his fading warmth. Despite feeling sad, I knew that he left while it was still dark so that no one would spot him. My mate was risking his life for me every day and it was my turn to return the favor.
“Our poor boys. I can’t wait till we can cuddle each other to sleep every night! Or even more, if you know what I’m saying!” Dawn exclaimed, her tail wagging in glee.
Smiling to myself, I shook my head at her naughty mind. “Yes, yes. All in due time. For now, I’m starving.”
