"Focus on your breakfast, don't worry about Mom," said Dad, seeing me staring at Mom's back.
After setting the food on the dining table, Mom just left. She didn't join us for breakfast. My sister, Nina, is still asleep because she seemed to come home late last night. She might've woken up early and then gone back to sleep again.
"You have to understand, your mom is used to Ray, so it's still hard for her to accept another man by your side."
I nodded.
"Tell Eric not to be discouraged from coming here if he's serious about being with you."
"Of course, Dad. Even without me telling him, Eric wouldn't give up that easily."
"Hmm. That's good then."
"Umm, Dad. You believe me about what I said about Ray, right?"
Dad gave a slight smile. "How could I not trust my own child, who's been with
