REI'S POV: Since the morning I was nervous like I never was before. I had to go back to my cabin because I actually forgot my back. Yes, you heard me right I forgot the bag I packed with the stuff for Madam Rosie and others. And for sure Maat enjoyed mentioning it when I was already almost halfway down the stream just to tease me. 'You have to admit it was funny.' Maat commented when I had again one of my typical private talks with myself. 'No, it wasn't, we already lost a lot of time because of your stupid wanting." I was huffed at her. When I finally arrived at the edge of the woods the sun was high and I knew I was already late. 'Maybe we are gonna miss him like that.' I said, still kind of angry from that small prank. Usually, I would take it another way but I guess I was too excited if I would see him or not. 'Okay, okay I am sorry.' Maat apologized but I didn't pay attention. Just to see the city from my current position made my heart beat frantically. 'You are already late; you should love your sexy lazy as*' Maat commented when I stood there for a few long minutes just staring in front of me. I didn't comment back and started to move. "Good morning Rosie." I greeted her when I finally entered her shop. I didn't smell the guy anywhere so I guess he still didn't arrive. 'If he even gonna arrive.' Maat said sheepishly. 'Seriously sometimes you could just stay quiet. I would really appreciate that.' I replied back annoyed. "Good morning dear. You are quite late I was worried. This is not like your usual you." Rosie replied and I heard in her voice worries. "Yes, I am really sorry about that. I actually forgot my bag in the cabin could you believe that?" I started to laugh and Rosie was eyeing me from head to toe shaking her head. "You are too young to be already forgetting, dear. What you would do at my age." She replied and I knew she was joking with me. "Did you see those new guys in the town?" She winked at me and I felt my cheeks heat up. "I saw some new people around but I spent most of my time up there working so didn't meet them yet," I replied. She didn't need to know every single detail. 'Yeah, she doesn't need to know that you are a stalker.' Maat could not leave this opportunity to tease me again. Sadly, with her comment, my cheeks heated up a bit more. 'This would be a very long day.' I mentioned it for myself and I was surprised that actually, Maat didn't react. I spent not even half an hour with Rosie before the bell above the door rang. She was telling me some funny stories with her husband and I could not stop laughing. For the first time, I wished to find someone like her late husband so I could one day also have this kind of funny yet happy memories. We both turned our gaze to the visitor and I froze on stop. Talking to Rosie I forgot that I was actually expecting him or maybe more like wishing him to come and now when he is here, I have no words. "Good morning ladies." He greeted us with a gentle smile. I couldn't miss his icy blue eyes but I could swear last time they weren't so dark as they are now. He was looking at me like he was waiting for something. 'You could greet him back at least. Well, it would be nice you know.' Maat poked me to wake me up from my daydreaming. 'I know his eyes are amazing but you should not stare my dear.' She was literally mocking me. "Good morning." Was everything I could say and I saw his eyes widened the same as his smile when I spoke. 'Do you think he likes us?' I asked Maat nervously. I could not stop staring at his bearded face and those dark pink lips. 'What the hell am I thinking about?' I scolded myself since the only images I had in my mind were the one where I was kissing him. 'Well sure he does like us and yes your mind is pretty dirty we both know that so no need to play shy now but could you please focus? He was talking to us.' Maat scolded me and I was lost. I have no idea what he said. 'He wants your name dummy.' Maat helped me out. I was so nervous and had no idea what I should do. "I am Rei, nice to meet you," I said but his face looked dazed and he didn't respond. "Sir?" I tried to call him but nothing, his face blank. 'He talks to his wolf or I guess his wolf talks to him.' Maat chuckled. Now I understood why she was always teasing me with the mental house. It was really funny to see someone who speaks to his wolf. "Are you alright sir?" I asked the moment his icy blue eyes started glowing with the sparks again. "Yes, yes, I am fine. I was just lost in my thoughts." He replied back and his cuteness was unbearable. Can I even say about the man that he is cute? I wasn't sure but I didn't care. 'Did he introduce himself?' I asked Maat. I guess I missed his name. 'Calen.' She replied instantly. 'Calen.' I repeated for myself and his name sounded like music to me. "So, mister Calen." I wanted to say something but he interrupted me. "Just Calen please." She corrected me. I could help myself and smile at him. "So, Calen. Are you staying in town?" I asked but instantly slapped myself for the stupid question. Of course, he is staging in town. They are moving their whole pack here. I wish to disappear or maybe lose consciousness or actually whatever I could blame my stupidity on it. 'Just relax. He would not bite you, eat you, at least not right now.' Maat commented which left me speechless. What was that supposed to mean I had no idea. "Yes." He replied chuckling on my silly question. Sure, he knows that I actually know about his pack. "We bought the land nearby here to the North-east. We divided that this is a perfect place for us." He explained. "Well, I hope you would not destroy our lovely woods," Rosie commented. I completely forgot that she is here with us. I felt sad when he turned his gaze to Rosie so he could reply to her. "Of course not. We are trying to implement our cabins into the woods without putting down the trees if possible. Well, we needed to put some of them down but we are nature lovers so we like deep woods and hiking. Sadly, the place we were living till now was too close to the city and the highway was almost right beside our houses so we searched for a place away from civilization. Our community is actually very similar to your madam Rosie. We have just a little more people than her in the town but that's all." He was surprisingly very open given to the fact that I am rogue and Rosie a human and I found it very attractive. He was honest and I liked that. The whole time he was talking my eyes didn't leave his mouth. 'You wanna kiss him that badly?' Maat asked me and my cheeks blushed as I realized that she was right. "That's really great to know. I am glad you care about the woods." Rosie replied to him and his gaze returned to me. His piercing icy blue eyes were staring right into me and I felt the fire growing inside. What was happening to me? I didn't know. "Actually, I know here from Madam Rosie that you are a very good herbalist and chemist, making your own cosmetics and medicine. I was curious that maybe you could visit us and show to our doctor some of your products. We prefer natural medicine so I am sure we could use your knowledge as well." He asked me and I was caught by surprise. What should I say? I asked myself. 'Say yes. Hurry up.' Maat pushed me. "That would be great, thank you," I replied. 'Wait isn't it dangerous to go to his pack? What if there is someone who would recognize me or worse our enemies.' I asked Maat as the worries crossed my mind. 'Does he look dangerous to you?' She asked me and I shook my head mentally to her. 'Do you feel threatened by him?' She asked another one and I had to deny it again. I had no bad feelings from him at all. Honestly, I felt very safe in his presence and I had the feeling like I know him already for a very long time. "So, it's settled. If you allow me, I could take you to our small village right now so you could see for yourself where it is and later you could visit us anytime." He said to me. "I would bring her back here Madam Rosie if you don't mind that I would borrow her for now." He meant it as a question but it sounded more like an announcement. Rosie winked at me and replied to him and approved. I looked at her back a little nervous and afraid but she shushed me with her hands encouraging me to go. "Just go. I would be right here waiting for you and don't worry I would take care of your stuff. Just take some samples with you." She told me with a smile. "Oh, that's a great idea." Calen agreed to give me a smile. When did I sign myself for this theater? I didn’t know but for some reason I felt like the main star. I collected several samples for cosmetics and medicine and went with Calen to his big car. It was black and big but that was all I could say about that. "I am sorry I waited to introduce myself to two weeks." He started to talk the moment we were alone in the car. "I know this land is yours and I didn't want to intrude so I made sure no one would enter the area where your scent was." So, I was right. He didn't want to make me feel uncomfortable in my own home. That's actually nice and thoughtful of him. "Thank you." Was everything I said as he left me almost speechless. I saw his hands as he was holding the steering wheel. I could pay him as maybe more nervous than I was from how sweaty his hands were. It actually made me relax knowing that this situation is the same for him as for me. "You were beside my cabin two weeks ago," I said suddenly. 'Maybe this time you should try to stay quiet.' Maat commented and for the first time, I agreed with her. I don't know what was wrong with my mouth today. "About that I am sorry." Wait. Why is he apologizing? "I should have followed you but when I came to town two weeks ago, I smelled your scent and it was strange." Ah, I guess he is talking about the herbs I used to mask my scent two weeks ago. "I was curious because I was told this land has no pack so I wanted to check to know you were a werewolf." He explained. He unconsciously bites his lips waiting for my reply. "It's alright. I followed you the next day to find out your intention. And seeing you were respecting my area I let it be." Like hell I did. 'Like hell you did.' Maat repeated after me and I am sure she meant my stalking him. "May I have a question?" He asked cautiously and nervously so I guessed what he wanted to ask about. "You wanna know why I am here all alone." I finished for him and he nodded. I understand his concern. By his face and beard, I would guess him to be over twenty-five and for him I was too young to live alone in the woods. "I guess this question would need to wait for now if you don't mind," I replied to him back, turning my gaze out from the window watching the trees as we were heading into his new land. My mind was fully occupied with the memories his question brought back to the surface.
