Just The Beginning

"What the hell," I said to myself. I looked around and didn't realize where I was. I totally forgot I left home and ran to Caligo to see Cloud. "Good morning," Cloud said as he came into the room slowly. "Hey, um who took off my gown," I asked him sternly. "My handmaidens," Cloud responded. I sighed in relief. Why in the world did I think he would have taken my gown off? "They will help you get dressed and then we can talk some more," Cloud said. I just nodded and waited for his handmaidens to come in. Once they finally arrived, they brought with them a change of clothes for me. They helped me put on a crochet crop top with cut open sleeves and a matching long maxi skirt. Finally, they placed a headpiece on my head that dangled to the top of my eyebrows. It was a bit sheer and unlike anything I have ever worn before but by the looks of the handmaids. The clothing here was very sheer and didn't leave much to the imagination. I was escorted to the throne room. It was very dark and red. His throne was made out of fire. It was definitely intimidating. "So any idea when you will be going home," Cloud said as he approached his throne. He took a seat and I stepped closer to him. "I'm not sure," I said. "I want to go back but they just want me to do something I can not." "And that is?" Cloud asked. "They, they want me to get, um, married and give up my phoenix spirit," I mumbled. "Oh, right," he replied. "I know that the galaxy has never had a female phoenix spirit but you were born to the last phoenix spirit holder so you are the rightful queen." "King!" I corrected. "I want to keep the title of king. I AM THE PHOENIX KING!" "Alright, sorry," he laughed. "Look, tell them you won't get married. You are the king, they have to obey you." Cloud was right, they had to obey me. I felt much better about going back to Callisto and facing Paul. "Well, I guess I can go back now," I told Cloud. "Good," he replied. I turned around ready to head back to my mother's ship but then decided I didn't get all the clarity I needed. "Why didn't you come to the phoenix ritual? Did you not want to say bye to my mother," I asked. "I already said my goodbye before that day," Cloud told me. "Being there that day would have just been too hard. Too much to bare." He looked away from me and then lifted his head back up to meet my gaze. "Oh, I mean I guess but it would have been nice for you to be there," I said. "My mother made it seem like maybe you would be there." I walked away before he could say anything. I went back to my mother's ship and headed back home.   Everyone was frantic. Apparently, Paul and Maze had sent out men to go look for me but I knew they would never think to look for me in Caligo. "Alexandria," Paul called as he saw me entering the grand hall. "Look, I'm sorry but I'm fine," I said. "Good, now you will be staying here and be constantly followed by the royal guards," Paul said. "No, I do not authorize that, I am your king," I said. "Yes, you may be king but I am your the high council member of Callisto and your people won't like to hear how their new king is reckless and behaving like a child," Paul said. "You would make the people turn against me," I said to Paul. "If you leave me no choice," Paul stated. I took a deep breath and then released it heavily. I walked away and went to my chambers. "Dear, are you okay?" Venus asked as she brought me some tea. "Yes, I just don't know what to do," I said. "I don't want to give up my phoenix spirit." "We know and you shouldn't have too," Samantha added as she came to brush my hair. "So, what do I do," I asked them. "Ask the spirits?" Venus said. My mother always told me that the spirits gave you the answers you needed but they weren't always the answers you wanted. So what if the spirits answer me and it's nothing good or nothing I want to hear. I went to take a hot bath and then came back to get some rest.  I could only close my eyes for a little bit. I was anxious and ready to get some answers. I headed over to the trinity spirit church. I kneeled down in front of the wall of fire. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. "Spirits, please help me," I said. "What can I do to keep my phoenix spirit." Nothing happened. I peeked open my eyes and looked around. "Come on, please say something, or do anything," I pleaded. Still, nothing happened. I sighed and got up. I walked out of the church to find Maze waiting for me. "Alexandria, I'm sorry all of this is happening but fight for your throne, for your spirit, and for your galaxy," he told me. "Thank you," I told him. "Your father was my dearest friend and I as his advisor tried to set him on the right path," he explained. "I don't think that actually happened until he met your mother so I would also like to say you should want to find someone who can help you on your journey." "Does that need to be right now?" I asked. "No, when you find him, you will know,' Maze said. "How can this already be so hard," I said. "This is just the beginning," Maze said. "You have many lives to live and I know just like Alexander, you will do great." I gave Maze a hug and then went back to the palace. When I tried to go back to sleep I had a strange dream. There was a tall man staring at me. I was standing in front of him but I couldn't move. His eyes were red and he wouldn't blink so he just stared. Suddenly, his entire body was covered in flames. He came closer to me and then I saw these horrible creatures crawling behind him. They got closer and closer until finally, they were so close I could feel the heat on my face. I let out a scream as the creatures jumped from behind him and on to me and with that I woke up. I looked around and I was in my bed in my chambers. I looked over to see a picture of my parents. "I miss you both so much," I cried.
