“So why not claim me?” I ask thinking this is pretty simple.
Marah becomes almost physically unable to continue. She is crying and crawls under the cover to wrap her arms around me. I’m so in love with this girl. I wouldn’t care if she could turn into a turtle.
“There’s more I need to tell you and part of that is why I can’t claim you, not now anyway.” She says.
We lay there for a few more minutes. I’m rubbing her back while her head is laying on my shoulder. “I think I’m ready as ever to hear the rest.”
She hugs me tighter and then kisses me. “I promise you Lucas, I love you. The next part of this chaos might not be something easy for you to accept.”
“Marah, WTF? Seriously? How much more is there?” I ask.
