LUCAS POV When Marah took off out of the airport terminal, I felt my heart sink. My feet started moving without the permission of my head. At this point, my heart is in charge. I can’t stand the thought of her being this close to me and running away. I’m following close behind her and she can move. It’s pouring rain to the point that there is water standing on the road. Marah stops suddenly and nearly falls to the ground. I’m not sure what to do. She’s sobbing uncontrollably. I bend down and cautiously touch her shoulders. I pull her to a standing position and instinctively pull her into me. Her body is shaking from a mixture of her crying and the rain soaking our clothes. At times, I feel like she’s pulling away and all I do is retaliate by holding her tighter. I have to let her know
