LARISSA POV
“Dad I promise, Marah is a friend. I’ve not been able to find many here. Can she please spend the night? I already told her she could so do you want to make me the liar?” I pouted knowing I’d get my way. “You better be home by 1 and no later – that’s the same time as your brother! I don’t need more aggravation from Sandra about being woken up in the middle of the night.” Dad said. Jumping around and giving him a big smooch, I smiled. I have so got this man wrapped around my finger. I just wish Lucas could see it within himself to give both mom and dad a break and let them be happy about their decisions. But I’m too busy focused now on my date. You guessed it; I’m going on a date with The Keith Sunders.
Yes, I left out the part of going on a date. I focused on meeting a new friend and having her spend the night. I’m sure both Dad and Sandra will like her. She seems so mature for a 16 almost 17-year-old. Plus, I do kind of like her so far. I hope she fits in with our family because it will be so nice to have a friend to also hang out with that has a car. No, that’s not the only reason I want to be friends, but it is a plus.
I return to my room that has a suite bathroom. It’s great so I can have privacy. I head to the bathroom so I can clean up and shave all the necessary parts in case hands start roaming. Keith likes my hair in a messy bun, so I plan to not spend as much time on it. Makeup is my friend! I spend countless hours working magic to create the stunning looks. I think makeup design might be my forte as a career in the future. Now, what should I wear? I’m about 5’5” so average, about 125 lbs with sunny blonde hair, and green eyes. I have a small butt and small boobs to cover so most of my clothes fit perfect except low cut blouses. I’m sure I’ll develop in a few years to look like my mother. For now, I’m fine with my looks and the guys don’t seem to mind either. In fact, I don’t get near as picked on as others do because they are a little chubby or blessed whichever way you look at it. Ok, so tonight let me think about what I’m wearing. Underwear first includes white lacy panties and matching bra, a white sexy romper that ties in the front. It’s almost see-through so the lacy bra is not much to the imagination. The shorts part of the romper fall right below my butt with the front even higher up on my leg. I should try to exit the house without dad or Sandra seeing me. I’d have to hear a remark from Sandra about how I better not get pregnant. But in Dad’s eyes he just wouldn’t want a boy to look at me with lust or touch me. Finishing the look is some casual slip-ons because my knee-high white leather boots might be overkill for this date since there’s not a lot of high class places to go nearby.
I run out the door and make my way a couple of streets over where Keith and I have pre-arranged to meet. It’s 8:30 pm now and I see his black Dodge Ram truck pull up. I run over to the passenger side and notice it’s too tall for me to climb in. At least I have on shorts. Keith seems annoyed but instantly retracts that look because he must lift me into the truck. He might have just placed his hands strategically. Away we go.
I notice Keith is looking a little grungy right now. I thought he would clean up better honestly. He pulls into a driveway and shuts off the truck. I feel my pulse increasing because I’m not really sure what this means – do I get out or stay put. As he gets to the front of the truck, I notice the annoyed look again like I should be following so I jump down so he doesn’t have to pick me up again. We still haven’t really spoken except for the “hi”. Once inside the small modest house, a small kid runs up to me and gives me a hug. “That’s my little sister” says Keith. “She’s a pest so don’t let her annoy you. Hey, I’m going to get a quick shower since I just left baseball practice with the guys. I didn’t realize how late it was or I would have left earlier. I didn’t want to leave you waiting for me on the corner.” I replied, “Oh no worries, I’ll be fine talking with this cutie.” If he only knew how much I don’t like kids. Lucky for me, I think Keith’s mom came in the house and ushered his sister out. She didn’t seem to even notice me and rolled her eyes saying, “I guess you’re waiting on Keith?” Saying the only thing I could think of, “Yes”.
Oh boy, I hope this date goes better than it has started off. Soon Keith exits and seems more in tune with being on a date with me. He has dark blue skinny jeans on with a lighter blue button-down shirt. I must say I know why girls find him irresistible. We leave his house without saying goodbye to anyone. I thought it was a bit odd, but every family has their own way to communicate. He seemed happy now to have to help me in his truck and again placed hands strategically.
We ended up at a local café where we both order a basic hamburger, French fries and the famous strawberry milkshake. Yum is the only word to describe the deliciousness. After, he asked what I had in mind and would like to do. Being new to this town, I haven’t seen many exciting things to do yet. After voicing this concern and leaving it to him we decided to go to the boat docks and just hang out. When arriving there, I notice this must be a teenager’s hangout as cars come and go while some park like we are doing.
“Want to walk down by the water” Keith asked. “Absolutely!” I responded. We take a path and end up on a rock beach that’s only a few feet from the water. The sun has set by now and there is a full moon shining. It’s very romantic. But either Keith is shy or really not interested in me. I’m getting tired of this date already. Finally, I blurt out “Are you ok? You seem like you don’t want to be here. It’s ok if you want to take me to meet my friend.” To my bewilderment he just stared at me. It’s like I spoke a foreign language. I turned to walk away, and he grabbed my waist and pulled me back into his chest. Turning to face him, I immediately slapped him on the cheek.
“Spunky, are we?” he finally said. “Let go of me jerk! You treat me like s**t and then want to grab me. I’m not sure what kind of girls you usually date but I’m obviously not like any of them.” He has the nerve to laugh at me. This burns a fire in my gut. I’m ready to give him a good sock with my left hook when he runs his hands through that dark hair and smirks. “I’m just not use to being around a girl I actually like and want to get to know.” I say, “Well what kind of girls do you usually take out?” I notice a debate within when he says, “Usually girls come onto me and the rest just happens.” Rest of what? Ohhhhhhh!
“As you know, I’m not from here so it doesn’t just happen like that with me. Thank you very much!” A gorgeous smile forms and he leans down to softly kiss my cheek.
“There’s a log over here we can sit and chat” he suggests. I look and nod my acceptance. We must have set there for 2 hours and talked about both of us. I found out that he loves baseball and hanging out with friends, he doesn’t like school, and he’d rather be out than having to spend time with his family. Apparently, his mom and dad have split and his mom is battling depression. She is in the hospital so the lady I saw was just an aunt who was there taking care of his sister. I think he found it comforting that I related to a split family. I offered suggestions on how to cope without sounding like it was a piece of cake.
All-in-all I found this date to be good and I would give him a chance. We walked back to the truck not realizing it was already midnight. “I need to be dropped off in the Burger King lot please” I smiled at him. “Um, ok but why? Are you hungry?” Laughing I say, “No I’m meeting Marah Murphy there. She’s spending the night with me.” He lifts and eyebrow at that. I wonder if they have a past. It looks like he’s trying to think of something to say. “She’s a nice person but really intense. She likes being in charge and likes to win and very competitive.” I glance at him and couldn’t resist, “Is she an ex-girlfriend or something?” He then burst out laughing, “Oh heck no! She doesn’t date. I’ve known her since I can remember. She’s almost a loner. A competitive loner though. She has a select group of friends. Our families are somehow related but I’m not sure how totally. I think if you’re hanging out with her then you must be special. She really doesn’t associate with many especially strangers.” Relaxing at that response I breathe better.
I can see where he is coming from in his assessment. I met Marah while signing up for a kick boxing class offered by the local YMCA. She was there with a couple other girls but when we paired up, she noticed I didn’t have a partner so decided to ask me to be hers. We clicked immediately. She offered to help me with technique throughout the week. That’s when I asked if she would like to spend the night and go to the lake the next day with me. She accepted so this leads me to Burger King parking lot.
I say my goodbye to Keith. He kisses me and I giggle as I hurriedly jump from the truck. It’s true, I think I like him. He smiles and nods at me and lifts his fingers to his head like he’s holding a phone and mouths, “I’ll call you tomorrow”. Sounds perfect to me!
Where is Marah? It’s 12:35 and she’s not here. If I have to walk home, I’m gonna be late and get the wrath of Sandra! Here she comes, you can’t miss her car. I smile and wave her down. I go to jump in the front passenger seat and notice someone there, so I open the back and slide in. “Hi sis” Lucas says. “WTH? Do you two know each other” I say. Not that I would mind. It’s just that most girls only want to be my friend so they can get closer to my brother. “Nah, not really. We met tonight.” He says. Marah stays very quiet as she starts driving. Interesting. Well let’s find out more.
“So how did you meet?” I say. My brother blushes and I look in the rearview mirror to see Marah blush. Oh hell no! Marah is the first to reply, “My friend tried to pick him up. I dropped her off. We started talking and found out that you were his sister so I’m giving him a ride home too.” She sounded almost sad. He looked almost sad. Are these two up to something? I decide to drop it ‘for now’. Marah asks, “How was your date?” I can see my brother turn to me with the questioning look. “What?” I say “Can’t I have fun too?” Lucas says, “I’m not busting you but be careful. You don’t know all these guys and their history. Who was your date with?” He asked in a concerning tone. “Keith Sunders” I almost whisper. It’s Marah’s turn to give input, “Keith is a good guy but be careful, he’s a player. He’s had it rough growing up. I think he just needs to let go of some built up aggression.” I respond, “Yeah, he told me the two of you are somehow related and that it was good that I’m your friend.” Marah tensed. I’m not sure what I said or if she didn’t like that he told me about her. So again, I dropped the subject.
Walking in the house, Lucas immediately went down to the basement without saying anything to either of us. Marah followed me up to my bedroom and I told her where to place her bags. I grabbed my pajamas and put them on so I could quickly run in to say goodnight to daddy. I saw his light still on so I’m sure they are still awake waiting to make sure that we are safe and at home. Marah asked about taking a shower. I’m fine with that but we’re going to the lake in the morning so I’m not sure why she’d need a shower but ok. “You’ll find all you need in the bathroom. Take your time. I’m going to tell the folks goodnight and grab a bottle of water. Would you like one too?” “OMG Yes please” she said. “Water sounds amazing. I’m parched.” I shook my head, nodded and secretly wondered why she didn’t get something to drink while she was out instead of being so thirsty. And again, I dropped the subject.
I walked back in the room and found Marah already sitting in bed. She is stunningly beautiful. It’s a sophisticated beauty instead of the cute girlish kind. She’s larger than most girls. I’d say she’s at least a size 10 or 12. I just know we won’t be sharing clothes since I’m in a size 4. But to be honest, she wouldn’t look right being smaller. It’s like a Marilyn Monroe curvy seductive beauty. If she was stick skinny, the appeal wouldn’t be there. Now, I’m not into girls but I can see where I could be looking at Marah.
“So Marah, what’s up with you and my brother” I say with an eyebrow c****d up. “Larissa, I already told you. I just met him. How would anything be up with your brother?” she said. That’s a valid point but I still remember the blush each of them displayed. “Well, I just know how girls flaunt over him. It’s annoying that girls only want to be my friend because of him. You know I don’t mind if you think he’s cute though.” Marah gets this expression and yes, blushed again “Larissa, your brother is cute. My friend wouldn’t have made me almost wreck to get him in the car. I honestly didn’t know you had a brother. Plus, I’m not ready for a boyfriend anyway. I’m too young for that stuff.” She finished off sounding disappointed.
We finally shut off the lights and talked about my night with Keith. I’m totally going to dream about him. I turned over and after 15 minutes or so I’m about asleep when I hear Marah sighing and obviously in deep thought. Should I turn over and ask what’s up? Or leave it alone? You guessed; I dropped the subject. Within minutes, I was having a steamy make out session with Keith in my dreams.
