Hearing her scream that as loud as she could caused me to stop in my tracks. My chest tightened so hard that I found it really hard to breathe.
I wanted to keep walking, I wanted to pretend like I hadn’t heard that but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t take another step.
I’ve never thought of walking to be as difficult as it was right now, I could hear my heart racing. The sound of my blood rushing through my veins almost deafened me.
I closed my eyes to regulate my breathing but even that seemed like the hardest chore ever as my heart wouldn’t stop racing. I’ve been trying so hard to be strong but I just couldn’t anymore.
