It all felt wrong though. Meeting a bloke for intimacy of any kind without having associated with him before was so bloody alien to me. Even the weather turned against me. The bus didn’t turn up, and the heavens opened. I had my mac on, but no umbrella, so I waited under the cover of the bus shelter. My ardour, what there was of one, rapidly cooled.
