Chapter Five

Xander. Today was a Sunday. I had to pay a visit to Dad at my penthouse. It was more of a thing now because it's the only day I'm not too busy with work. And if my sunday's occupied then I usually make time for him during the week. I got there a little too early and he was still asleep giving me time to ponder over what Max and I had talked about when we met up Friday afternoon. I took a short walk around the penthouse. *Flashback to Friday Afternoon* We were seated in my office after ordering a box of pizza and lemonade. "Dig in, brother" Max said already taking a bite from a slice of pizza. "I need a wife right now not a slice of pizza I'll be digesting soon" I replied staring at the documents Reina had brought in earlier for me to go through. "That reminds me actually, you called when uhmm Miss Anderson came by today. Very icy lady. I suggested you donating sperm for her and she getting married to you. You know benefit from each other." "And..." I asked thinking of how a smart idea that was even though I didn't really understand why she wanted a baby. "She was so repulsive towards the idea like you were some dirty guy she wouldn't even dream of getting married too." He finished shoving some chicken nuggets in his mouth. "What?" I thundered. It's been a while since I've felt like this. "Really don't know why she sounded like that man" Does this girl realize how the stupid decision her father made affected my family? Dirt? If anything they're family had always been the dirt. Always ruining people. "Now that I think about it, it's a crazy nice idea . If we were to ever get married, I'd make her pay for her father's sin in the most unimaginable way possible" I growled standing up from my initial position. "Yeah that's really scary, but she says no" He was almost done with his lunch and had only paused to dab at his mouth with an handkerchief he found in my office. "Whatever. I'm not that desperate." I replied clicking on the intercom and ordering Reina's presence in my office. She walked in briskly and took the document from me finding her way out as fast as possible. Smart girl. I'd offer her the marriage contract but she's engaged. Wouldn't want to mess with her relationship. I can but I won't. "Man, I'm full." Max said pucking up his phone and typing some stuff. "I'm leaving now, thanks for lunch and understanding how much I love spending your money. Give her a call" He winked just when my phone pinged. It was max and he had sent me her contact. Freaking Peter Anderson's daughter. I'd love nothing more than to play. *Now* I should play along right? Or not. Dad had finally come around and was having his breakfast when I returned to his room. His caregiver, whom I never cared to ask for her name, dropped by and administered his drugs. She left packing up his dishes. "How you doing old man?" I asked smiling. My Dad was diagnosed with Liver Cirrhosis, which he had been battling with for years now with no improvement and yes Peter caused it. Alcohol was just a catalyst. I'd loose him soon, Max had hinted once during his check up session. "Fine." His reply was so short. He looked very uncomfortable being cooped up here. There wasn't much I could do about that. "Good. Want to watch something fun?" I asked trying to break the awkward silence. "Just get away from...uhh no" "Yeah, hope you get better" I stood up and walked out. It'd be preferable to just go out for a drive or a drink than watch him deteriorate day by day. It's sick. Should I call her? I mean was I really wishing to go down that lane? 'yes' a voice in my head answered. My phone beeped and it was a message from max. "She just asked to meet up with you. You sure have your way with words playboy *wink* " This guy must be f*****g kidding. I didn't call her and that's why this is good. Let her walk into the lion's den herself. Hmph, I'll show her how bad a lion's bite can be....so bad she might never heal. Brianna Imagine waking up to Mr David's call reminding me about the deadline. The guts! It's not even a week yet, guess he didn't hate me that much if he's showing this much concern. Who knows, he's probably just trying to know what my chances of getting pregnant are so he'd know how big history celebration is going to be. Poor thing. I'll definitely come up with something. I had a small chat with the doctor. Me: "Would I get pregnant before May if I agree to this whole thing?" Dr Weirdo: If we start the process early, yes. Me:You really can't think of another way apart from this? Dr Weirdo: Not right now. Dr Weirdo: This will definitely be beneficial for you both, you might not even need to pay each other. Me: *reply to 'not right now'* Hmph! So much for a doctor. Dr weirdo: *replies to "hmph! So much for a doctor"* 2 dark moon emoji. Me: who's the guy though? Dr weirdo: You won't know until you set up a meeting... Me: He isn't on i********: or anything where I could just search him up or something. Dr Weirdo: meeting him would be better, apart from misleading articles from desperate reporters, his social life is zero. You'll barely find anything useful. What's he doing? Trying to set up a blind date or what? This guy! Me: Have him set an appointment with my assistant, then. Dr Weirdo: That's a bit too stiff, don't you think? Me: See it however your glass fits, I've made up my mind and if you insist I'll probably fly out the country and find me a more efficient Doctor. He didn't send a reply after that. Hope he's not going to bail on me though and if he does, you know, I'll probably just loose the company and my life too!
