Chapter Three

1520 Words
Brianna. Today's Dad's burial. I practiced the fake tears like five times yesterday night. And all I can say is that I'm an actress in the making, trust me. My step mum finally called yesterday night, she was drunk and seemed to have butt dialed me by accident. I just did her a favor and dropped the call. She seemed heartbroken though. Her prince in shinning armour was dead. I was dressed in a black long flowing gown that exposed a great deal of my back and glowing skin. My personal assistant was also dressed in black too. She was behind me throughout the whole thing. The funeral was held in some big nice church. The pastor said some stuffs I didn't care to listen to. Then finally the time to cry... I mean the time to fully act came. "We'd like to hear some words from the daughter of the deceased" The reporters with their big eyed camera all rushed forward, clicking on the camera's like they're life depended in it. "Hi everyone, I'm Brianna Anderson, the daughter of the deceased, honestly my Dad was my favorite person in the world. My best friend, My comforter, My teacher, My supporter. He's always taught me to be strong, take risks and to always dream big. I really hate that he won't be around anymore and he's lying in some stucked up...." I paused and turned behind me towards the gold plated casket he was placed in, uhmm tears, yeah tears Bri. I broke into tears letting the microphone fall from my hand, causing a loud chattering sound from the speakers in their respective position. Clarissa was by my side quickly walking me out of the church into my car. She handed me my handkerchief. "Hmph! That went better than I expected, hope no one followed us." I asked dubbing at my eyes softly before placing my dark sunglasses on. "No ma'am" * Some people who cared well enough to honour Sophie's request were present at my late Dad's Mansion for some refreshment. I just dropped by to avoid any bickering of any kind from the few reporters that came to the house. "I've been here for how many minutes now? " I asked Clarissa who stood close to me. "47 minutes now." "Any appointment today?" I asked again. "Just one. Dr Henderson.11:00am" "Get me out of here" I muttered glancing at my wrist watch. Clarissa led the way, smart girl she stayed clear of the camera people who... "Who's this? Looks creepy" I thought out loud. "Xander Herztberg, Chairman of Hertzberg Group" Clarissa muttered. Without a word, I turned and got into my car. Honestly the only thing that dragged my attention to that dude was my unmarried step-aunt. She was trying to...ugh! This part of the world and immoral youths. * "Dr Henderson." "It's good to see you! Heard about your Dad. Really sorry about what happened." He blutted out. Ugh! No words about my Dad please. "Yeah, okay. I need to get pregnant within the next one week." I flipped my blonde hair behind my back. "You can just uhh have s*x?" He said in a question-like manner trying so hard to mask his surprise at the way I had reacted to his sympathetic words about my dad's death. "I don't want to. Any other option?" I sounded so cold, eyeing him like he was the cause of this whole rough patch I'm experiencing in my life right now. "You can pay for a sperm donor, but it's a really long process, lasts for about two months before you find a donor. So it's not..." His phone rang cutting him off. "Excuse me.." he picked up his phone and walked out. Few minutes later he came in, just his expression and I knew he found a suitable solution for me. "There's a way out." Just what I needed to hear. He explained this "way out" of his and... "No, I'm not getting married to some weird dude I don't know, so he'll give me a child, when you've found a better idea, call me." I grabbed my bag and walked out, still in the black dress I had on for my Dad's funeral. "Clarissa you can call it a day." I said before entering my car as she closed with me already inside. "Take me home" I ordered my driver while browsing on my phone on how to get pregnant in just one month. If I don't make this fast, I'd have to kiss my father's company goodbye, then I'll hang myself after. I wouldn't be able to leave with such shame. I tapped furiously looking for a suitable solution, nothing good was popping up. "We're here ma'am" David said holding the door open for me. I got out of the car walking into my Mansion. I laid on the floor of my living room located in the ground floor and rolled continuously....ugh. Marriage? I'm just 10! Okay I'm 25 but marriage is just not it. I mean I don't know this guy. I'd definitely find a better way. I mean I could just fake the pregnancy result. Yes! What have I been doing all this while? 'But would those old hags and mentlegents believe it though?' A voice in my head said. "They would, right? As long as I play it well. I'm an actress in the making bro!" I replied back so happy that I've finally figured out something to this whole s**t but a part of me knew I won't be settling for this idea. Too lame for someone of my IQ and status. Imagine getting caught. My phone rang and Aunt Katherine's saved number popped up on my phone screen. Damn, tonight's dinner. I really don't want some family drama right now, I've always pushed them away. They'll definitely grab on the "so sorry about your dad" and try to add the, "can you pls help me with something?" question, making it so obvious that the only reason why my digits is even stored in their f*****g cheap phone is because of my affluence and influence. Aunt Katherine doesn't ask for favours but her children do. And for some reason definitely unknown to me, she definitely doesn't like me. Hell, I don't like her too. This people need to re-strategize, not like it'll ever work but you know, they can just try. Ooops the call dropped! A few minutes later, Lucas was at my door trying to bring it down. Someone tell this dude to chill. Lucas is my cousin. The least hated. But Aunt's Katherine son anyways. "What?" I asked the moment my eyes landed on his. "You're coming with me. You definitely not missing this once in a long while family gathering" He pushed his way into my house and made himself at home. I checked my wrist watch while closing the door behind me and it was 5:00pm already. The dinner is by 7:00pm. We'll probably make it. "I have prior engagement, if you'll excuse me" I turned back and walked out, leaving the door ajar for him to close on his way out. "Girl it's your Dad's funeral dinner! You didn't even miss my baby sister's." His voice was getting louder. "That was because my Dad had me dragged in and I was 16 bro" I retorted trying hard to keep my cool. "Your Dad won't be proud of you" His voice went down a bit. Oh please, bro is always trying to act matured like he's some 50 year old. "He never was. Please if you're done leave." I opened my car door. "No no...I can't just.." He was still saying when I cut him off. He had his hands on the wiast part of the black jeans he was wearing. "What? Unless you're hear to ask for some other offer. Unless you're here to beg for some thing you wish you had that I have... Unless you're here to ask me to write you some cheque so you'll buy a stupid bmw, leaving shouldn't be so hard." My voice was hitched and my face was hard. "What?" He seemed taken aback by my response. "Bro f**k off, I'm having a really bad day!" I closed my car door really loudly and laid my head on the steering wheel, my hands shaking. "You're not all that you know and I really think it's best if you stay clear of tonight's dinner, b***h!" He yelled. I revved the engine of my car to live and drove in his direction. If he wasn't swift enough, It'd have been his turn to die. I drove out my house heading towards nowhere in particular. I finally got to a secluded road with not so many users. The silence was just what I needed. As much as a part of me didn't want to go for the dinner, another part longed to see their ugly faces. It just never ends well honestly. I didn't need any more drama in my life right now but you know, a little drama won't hurt. Or would it?
