CHAPTER 2 : A FRIENDS BROKEN PROMISES

"You heard the news?" Kian asked Watt breathlessly when he found Watt hanging out alone in the treehouse near the high school field. But he didn't receive a response from Watt, kaya deritsahan niya nang ibinalita ang balita.

"Cee and Raina have already confirmed their status," Watt seemed to be devastated after hearing the news about his friend Raina.

His jaw seemed to drop when he realized the agreement between the two of them a month ago. Agreement where Raina forced him to leave the group for the sake of their friendship especially him because he had no idea that his fellow group was betraying him. They are also not allowed to meet and talk inside the campus. They only meet and visit each other once a month too so that they are not noticeable by his teammates Cee, Kian, Cee and Reillander especially since they are in the same place. And if they do meet, it must be secret and no one will know.

"No they won't," Watt answered weakly to himself and smiled softly because he knew his sisfriend very well. He trust Raina kaya hindi niya binigyan kahulugan ang balita.

After a minute his phone suddenly beep and he saw someone sent a video clip to him. A video that crushed and made him angry until he couldn't stop himself. He quickly got down from the tree house at tumungo sa building nila Raina to confirm everything. After getting off, he ran as fast as he could without wearing shoes because he was in a hurry. So the other students looked at him, shocked and can't believe because of what he did.

When he reach Raina's room, he slowly peeked to see if Raina's was inside. When he caught a glimpse of Raina kissing Cee, he immediately retreated and hide.

It's better for him to hide first to avoid trouble, dahil tiyak siyang hanggang sa ngayon pinag-iinitan pa rin siya ni Cee kahit na dati itong leader.

"Is this my punishment?" he suddenly asked himself as he remembered his punishment he had never received since he left. Because he left suddenly, without a good reason and received the appropriate punishment in the policy he himself made 'To anyone who quit deserves a punishment they won't soon forget'.

As he thought, he heard a sob coming from the other room that made his hair stand up as the voice became familiar. Is she crying?

To make sure it was her, Watt got up the courage to go to see if it was really Raina and maybe he just misheard. After entering, he saw Raina crying and shaking while Cee who was in front was grinning as if possessed.

His blood boiled at what he witnessed, so he suddenly kicked Cee several times. .Riana intervened to separate the two but she herself was pushed by the two. She was shocked and can't believe by the attitude of the two until her classmate called the security. After the security arrived, they voluntarily stopped and were taken to the guidance office. They were asked one by one but there was no explanation or answer until they were given a 2 week suspension. Watt’s pulse quickened. He couldn’t leave things unresolved not like this.

After leaving the office, the tension between Watt and Cee still hasn't disappeared. Raina caught up with Watt and decided to keep him away from Cee.

"Kuya Watt, wait!” Raina called, kabado it pero kailangan niyang magkunwari kahit paano, maparamdam niya na concern pa rin siya kay Watt.

Watt suddenly stopped but didn’t turn around. “Ano pa ba, Raina?” he whispered, his voice barely audible.

“Can we talk? Please…” Pagmamakaawa ni Raina then, Watt saw the vulnerability she was trying so hard to hide. He nodded slowly and gently took her hand, toward their building to get his things. As they walked, the silence between them grew heavier by the second.

Watt broke the silence. "Ano ba ang pag-u-usapan natin?" kuryos na tanong ni Watt.

Raina took a deep breath, "Nothing, Kuys. Gusto ko lang humingi ng sorry."

Watt’s heart pounded in his chest. "For what? For loving Cee without my consent? Kaya pala pinu-push mo akong umalis sa grupo kasi ayaw mong malaman ko. Kaya pala gumawa ka ng kasunduan na once a month lang tayo magkita kasi may kikitain kang iba."

Raina bit her lip, trying to hold back the emotions welling up inside her. "No! It's not that"

"Then what?"

"For not keeping my word!" Raina said cause of Watt's sudden silence.

Raina took a deep breath," Sorry kung nagtiwala ka sakin ng buo. Sorry kung mas pinili ko si Cee kumpara sayo. Ginawa ko lang ang tama para iparamdam ang mga mali mo...Pero diko inexpect na aabot tayo sa ganitong sitwasyon."

"Teka!Teka. Anong ibig mong sabihin?" takang tanong ni Watt sa hindi niya maintindihan kung bakit out of nowhere ganto sasabihin ni Raina.

"Anong ibig kog sabihin?" Raina scoffed, her eyes, though still filled with tears, were feirce. "Gusto ko lang na hayaan mo akong tumayo sa sarili kong mga paa. Gusto kong hayaan mo akong mapag-isa. Yung hindi pinapakialamanan yung buhay at desisyon ko."

Watt shook his head, frustration coursing through him. "Raina, don’t do this. Don't prank me. This isn't you." he paused saka tinignan ako sa mga mata. "He must’ve blackmailed you or something. Just tell me the truth, and I'll help you out of this mess!"

Raina’s eyes widened, her hands balling into fists. "Help me? Blackmail? I don't need your help Watt."

Watt’s mind spun as he desperately until he stepped closer, his voice trembling. "Raina, please... I just need to understand. Paano nangyari ito? Anong sinabi niya sayo? I won't believe na nagpasya kang makasama siya! Nasaan na iyong promise mo samin? Alam ba ito ni Tita?!

"Stop, Watt. Just stop." Raina’s voice trembled kaya umatras na si Watt ng makitang hinihingal na ang kaibigan.

"Okay, I'll stop. Hindi na 'ko mangingialam sayo. Hahayaan na kita sa kung ano man ang gusto mo. You are feel free to do things that makes you happy and satisfied pero sana gawin mo din ang pangako mo sa iyong pamilya."

"This is it, isn't it?" he added bago tuluyang umalis sa harapan ni Raina. As he turned to leave, Raina stood there alone, watching him walk away as well as wondering if things could have been different had she made a different choice.

Makalipas ang dalawang linggo, muling bumalik si Watt sa campus. He came back as if nothing had happened but he was no longer the same as before who had many friends, was famous and was being chased. He preferred to be alone, doing things he never did before. It has also become a focus on learning. Raina and Cee have met once in the hallway, cafeteria and even at their place, but they didn't show any reaction. He looks like a stranger to his former friends.

As months passes, sinimulan niya na din kumilala ng bagong kaibigan, until he found the best one, si Kai. He courted Kai for almost seven months and Kai finally answered him sa mismong araw ng graduation nila. He accept kai even though he was afraid but he knows that Kai is different.

Everyone cheered at Kai's unexpected answer and a moment of their happiness, there was a student who went up and asked Watt, "What are you afraid of?".

Kai without hesitation he answered, " I think, The fear of giving my all to someone who promise to stay but end up choosing with someone else."

"What if Kai do that to you?" asked the students again.

And if ever we don't stay together in the end. I won't regret because i knows in myself that i did everything. I gave everything until I had nothing left.
