As soon as the door closed behind us I felt a sense of relief passing on me. The wedding has been a huge deal. I could feel my limbs aching from standing for so long. I was smiling throughout the ceremony, faking that we were happy couple who were so in love with eachother.
Rowan hasn’t said much since we left. His hand stayed at the small of my back the entire time protective, grounding but his mind has clearly been working.
I kicked off my heels first. Rowan loosened his tie slowly while his eyes never left me. I could feel his gaze on me the entire time. I could feel the question coming before he could even speak it.
“Did you know him before?” The words are calm as he folded his arms on his chest while looking… Too calm.
