END OF CHAPTER 28 -WYATTS POV

'I left Amond at home so I could look after you'

'Oh' Kat pouted 'Will he visit soon?'

'I will bring him around for the bbq' Again with this bbq, I was annoyed that I wasn't invited, she was my mate, I should get invited to events like this.

'Except no one knows she's our mate you i***t' Kai reminded me

'Yay!' Kat clapped and her aunty looked down at her

'Angel, what are you wearing?'

'Alpha Wyatt got it for me' She smiled and pointed to where I was sitting 'My dress had blood on it'

'Oh, I see, hello your majesty' Joy smiled at me, I liked speaking with mated women, they didn't drool all over me

'Joy'

'Daddy asked me to bring you some food' Joy held up a bag she was holding 'I don't know what it is, I just grabbed the first container

I saw with your name on it in the fridge'

I frowned, why did Kat have her own food to the rest of the family.

Joy sat Kat down and she opened the bag and pulled out a blue tupperware container, she opened the lid and I saw some kind of vegetable stir-fry.

It actually smelt really nice and Kat's face lit up

'I will go heat it up'

Before I could stop her, she ran from the room.

Joy sighed and sat down 'I can't wait for her to grow out of her no shoe faze' She said to me 'She won't even wear them in the woods,

Shays often linking me about her attempts to get Kat into shoes, she keeps buying her new pairs, she has more than me at this point'

'She'll grow out of it' I shrugged

'Hopefully' Joy said 'Goddess knows you can't force her to wear them, she's special my little angel'

'Yes she is' I said with affection before I could stop myself, Joy looked at me with a strange expression and I quickly changed the

subject 'How are things in Raven, did the troops help?'

'Yes your majesty' She answered 'We really appreciated the help'

Raven was one of the packs close to us, on the other side of the human territory near the ocean and they had been having issues with the vampires there.

Joy had met Shawn, the head Beta from Raven, when he attended a meeting here a few years ago and had returned there with him that same week.

It wasn't fair, that's how it was meant to happen, you find your mate and you get to be together but not me, I had to wait through years of torture just to get to hold her, to touch her, to mark her

'I’m glad' I smiled ‘So, you just had your first pup?’

‘6 months ago now’ She answered with a loving expression ‘You should see Kat with him, she’s very protective, I told Will I think

they might be mates’

The smiled wiped from me face and my fists clenched.

‘But he said Kat was far to young for talk like that’ She laughed, oblivious to my fury ‘But it would explain why she dotes on him so much’

I leant back and glared at the door, Kai was furious that someone would dare to say our girl was mated to someone else but I couldn’t say anything without giving it away that she was mine

'Is something wrong your majesty?'

'I was just worried about Kat' I lied, if Joy had designs to bind her son to my mate then I would make sure they stayed apart until she

was of age and mine 'She might need help heating up her food'

Joy laughed and I looked at her 'Katomi is very capable your majesty, she hates people doing things for her, like I said, she's very

special'

'Right' I nodded

'Actually your majesty' She said nervously 'Now that I have you alone, I was wondering if I could ask you something'

Shit, had I given away my secret 'Go ahead' I tried to sound casual.

'Well, it's just' She said and looked at the door 'About Kat, I overheard Shawn and Alpha Thomas talking about her a few months ago'

WHAT!

'They mentioned that some of the elders believe Kat to be a white Lycan because of her hair' She went one, it was true they'd often brought up the subject but my father had dismissed it ‘I’ve often thought this myself, perhaps that's why she's so... different'

'Different how?'

'She seems to know things before they happen' She went on 'Like with my pregnancy, she knew I was having a boy'

'It was just a guess'

'Thats not all' She continued 'She knew his name even though we hadn't told anyone that we were naming him Amond after Shawn's grandfather and she knew when he'd be born, she said it would happen during a thunderstorm and he was and there are other things, odd things she does'

'Have you spoken to anyone about this?'

'Just Will and Shay but they told me not to speak about it with anyone'

So, they also suspected Kat was different, I had wondered if they did and it would explain why they'd told her not to trust anyone and the intense training her father puts her through.

'But if she really is a white Lycan, shouldn't we start training her now' Joy asked 'If the Fae or dragons find out about her, she'll need to be able to defend herself'

'She doesn't need to defend herself, she is my..' I quickly stopped myself from saying the word mate 'Pack member, I will defend her if she needs it, you will never speak to anyone ever again about your suspicions, is that clear!'

'But, shouldn't we at least tell Kat what we suspect?' She continued to argue ‘White Lycan’s are usually born with a purpose, she’ll need to prepare for her future’

'Do not make me tell you again Joy' I said in warning as my eyes darkened

'Yes Alpha, I'm sorry' She said nervously 'I just worry about her, white Lycan’s are greatly coveted'

Kat came through the door before I could respond, she was holding the tupperware container on top of a tea towel.

'Where did you get the tea towel?'

'Nurse Jamie got it for me' She said happily 'He said I'd burn my hands'

I watched as Kat sat down on the ground and crossed her legs, she rested her food on them and began eating with a lot more enthusiasm then when she'd eaten the salad.

She must have been starving, I was already failing as her mate and I didn't even have her yet.

I leant back and sighed internally, I wished Joy had taken longer to arrive, I didn't have an excuse to stay with her anymore.

I was planning on making up another excuse to stay but my father linked me and ruined any ideas I had to spend time with Kat.

'Where the hell are you!' He shouted and Kai growled

'Why can't he drop dead already' He snarled.

'I’m at the hospital'

'Why!' He continued to shout 'We have a meeting!'

'Doctor Shay went into labour and I brought her to the hospital to watch over Kat until her aunt arrived'

'So you've gone from an Alpha to a bloody babysitter have you!' He ranted 'I knew I wasting my time teaching you all of these years!'

'Teaching' I snapped before I could stop myself 'Is that what you call it!'

'Keep it up boy and I will remove your tongue!' He yelled 'Get to the pack house now!'

'Fine!' I growled

'Don’t keep me waiting again boy' He warned 'Or your little mate will pay the price for you'

I growled furiously 'If you ever touch her!'

'You'll what boy!' My father sounded excited that I'd defended her 'Move your dam arse or I'll do more than touch her!'

I growled and cut the link, I looked at Kat while my heart raced to calm myself down but she was staring at me with wide frightened eyes.

'Are you alright Alpha?' Joy asked as she leant away from me.

Shit, I hadn't meant to growl out loud.

'Sorry' I said quickly 'I never meant to frighten you, I have to go but I will come visit again when the babies come'

'Ok, thank you again for watching Kat'

'It was my pleasure' I rose from my comfortable chair and knelt down next to Kat who I noticed slightly leaning away from me, I

hated that I'd scared her, she was the one person in this world I never wanted to fear me.

'I am sorry I scared you' I said gently 'I promise, I'll never hurt you, okay'

'Okay' She smiled 'Thank you for playing with me and my clothes'

'You're welcome' I reached over and touched her cheek before standing up and turning to Joy.

'Try to take her home to rest' I ordered 'I don't want her sleeping in the hospital'

'I can't go' Kat said quickly and I looked down at her 'I have to wait for my babies to come'

'Her babies?' Kai growled in annoyance 'The only babies that will be hers will come from us'

I sighed, she was so stubborn, I hope she grows out of that, it wouldn't be easy to keep her safe if she always argued with me.

'I will try Alpha but once she's made up her mind about something, it's hard to change it'

'I know' I sighed again 'Id better get going, goodbye'

'Goodbye Alpha'

'Goodbye Alpha Wyatt, Alpha Kai' Kat waved and started eating again Kai was thrilled she'd acknowledged him and purred softly as I headed to the pack house.

Once I'd arrived I headed straight for the conference rooms to find the guards waiting by the door, they greeted me and opened the doors and I walked inside.

The main conference room was painted grey with dark wooden floors and a huge wooden table in the centre.

I couldn't wait to have control, I'd be changing everything in this pack, everything my father ruined.

I looked at my father who was sitting at the head of the table in a suit, if you didn't know the man, you'd think he was just another handsome businessman but I knew better, I knew the monster beneath the surface.

'Well if it isn't my son the babysitter' He snapped and I growled angrily at him 'So nice of you to join us, I’m so sorry to drag you away from your day job'

'Funny' I snapped back, I knew I'd pay for attitude in some way later but I didn't care, I was so sick of his s**t 'Lets just get this meeting over with'

My father looked excited by my challenge.

'Well of course your majesty' He said and the men in the room looked nervous 'Id hate to keep you, I'm sure you have other more important things to attend to then the war!'

I glared at him and sat down beside Beau who looked at me with confusion.

'Well now that my so-called heir has arrived' He commented 'Let’s begin'

We spent two hours going over various topics my father deemed worthy until finally he stood up, I thought he was finished but then he turned around and looked at me with a strange smile on his face.

'What’s he up to now?' Kai wondered

'I want a small group of warriors to infiltrate the Fae capital' He said as if it was no big deal.

'What?' I asked 'We tried to get into their capital 60 years ago and lost everyone, it's too heavily guarded, it can't be done, what reason could you possibly have for wanting to get in there that you'd risk our troops again!'

My father growled in warning before pulling out a piece of paper, he held it up and I sighed angrily when I saw a sketched image of a white stone with glowing silver writing on it.

'The dam Tarix again!' I snarled 'It won't work!'

'Who ever has this stone rules the Fae!' Callum commented 'If the King had possession of this, he'd rule the Fae and the Lycans, he'd be unstoppable, we could take over the dam world!'

'Shut the f*ck up Callum' I shouted and stood up angrily, I'd indulged this insanity for far too long 'Having the Tarix won't help you, even if you had it, only a member of the royal blood line can use it, the Fae still wouldn't follow you!'

'I already have a member of the royal blood line'

'What?' I gasped and looked at my father, he'd lost his dam mind 'Since when, the Queen only had two children, the heir is dead, she died two years ago with her kid and her son and grandson are in the capital so who could you possibly have?'

'I have a royal member that's all you need to know' He said angrily and slammed his hand down on the table 'And when the time is right, I will take advantage of that fact and the Queen will finally be under my control, now.... I want a group prepared'

I went to argue but Andrea quickly spoke up.

'We'll need time to train them' He said quickly and looked at me in warning, he often had to be the buffer between my father and myself 'At least a year or two to prepare them for infiltration'

'Fine' My father calmed down 'You have two years to get them ready but after that I want them gone'

'I will personally see to it' Andrea told him.

'Good' My father said and looked at me angrily 'I am leaving the pack with Callum for a few days, are you able to keep things running in my absence or is that too much work for you'

I bit down on my tongue to stop myself from saying what I wanted to say

'Yes Alpha' I said through a clenched jaw

'Good' He said before looking around the room 'Your dismissed, get out, you stay'

My father added when I went to leave the room, great, here we go.

Once everyone had left the room he looked at me

'I see that spending time with your mate has given you the delusion that you can challenge me boy but I promise you, you are mistaken' He warned me 'Keep it up and I will send her to another pack until she is of age and you will be banned from seeing her until then'

I growled 'If you even try to take her away from me I'll rip you apart' I said before I could stop myself, it's what he wanted, he wanted me to lose my composure.

'Or perhaps I'll gift her to your brother' He commented and I saw red 'He can take her as his chosen'

I launched myself at my father before he could finish but he was still stronger and grabbed me by throat as my claws came down against his cheek, cutting him deeply.

He roared furiously and slammed me down, I struggled and for the first time, I felt myself winning as I pushed him back, he must have sensed it too because he used his command on me.

'STOP MOVING!' I growled and stopped struggling so my father finally let me go.

He leant back and wiped the blood from his cheek and looked down at his hand.

'You just don't get it!' He shouted and pulled a handkerchief from his pocket to clean the blood from his wound 'Your mate is just an object, she is there to give you strength and an heir, nothing more, she is beneath you, they're all beneath you, I've tried to get you to see that but there's too much of your mother in you!'

'Screw you!' I shouted and tried to move from the ground but the pain of going against an order was to much and I stopped again

'Keep it up boy and I'll take Katomi myself'

'I'll rip your f*cking throat out if you touch her!' I growled and began to fight the command again and this time I was able to sit up, causing my father to step back.

'I warn you' He said cautiously 'Attack me again and you will regret it!'

I growled and stood up but I stepped away from him.

'Can't you see how weak she's making you' He went on 'You can't even control your actions when it comes to her, don't let some b***h pup have that much control over you!'

'She isn't some b***h pup!' I snarled as I rubbed my throat, he'd really choked me hard this time 'She is my mate, she is my everything, I love her, just because you use your mate, it doesn't mean I will!'

'Oh please' He spat 'You love her, she's your everything, then who was in your bed last night boy, Michiana, wasn't it, don't talk to me about loving your mate'

I felt guilt rush through me 'Thats different!' I defended myself 'Katomi is a child, when's she of age, I will be loyal, I will never betray her!'

'You only feel this way because of the dam Lycan, if you'd only suppress that bloody beast, you'd be unstoppable' He said as Kai growled 'You don't need him, just his power, just like you don't need Katomi, just what she can give you!'

'I WILL NEVER SUPPRESS KAI!' I shouted and my eyes darkened 'AND I WILL NEVER USE MY MATE!'

'Your impossible!' My father snarled 'You need to let go of this stupid obsession with this girl!'

'My obsession!' I spat viciously 'What about your f*cking obsession with the Queen, how many thousands of Lycans have we lost because you want some b*tch who doesn't want you!'

My father growled and his fist clenched, I knew he wanted to punch me but he couldn't hurt me unless I challenged him first and I wasn't giving him the satisfaction again.

'Watch it boy' He warned 'And it's not about that, can't you see how powerful we'd be if we had the Fae under our control'

'And then what!' I snapped 'You get the Fae under your rule, what next!'

'Next?' He said with joy in his tone 'Next we use their power to take the witches and then the dragons and then’.

'Are you crazy!' I shouted 'You've lost your mind'

'Can’t you see that I'm doing this for you!' He shouted 'For our people, we need power to stay alive, to protect our packs!'

'The only one our packs need protection from is you!'

My father glared at me 'There's no speaking to you' He said as if I was the crazy one 'I'm leaving and as punishment for your insolence today, you will stay away from your mate for 6 months!'

'What!'

'DO NOT START AGAIN OR ILL MAKE IT A YEAR!'

'At least let me see her tomorrow' I pleaded, hating myself for begging him 'She was so excited about the twins being born, just let me see her once more before I have to stay away from her'

'You're hopeless, visit your b***h but then you stay away from her, if I hear you've been near the b***h I'll kill one of her siblings and you can explain to your mate why it's dead, see if she accepts you after that'

I suppressed another growl and marched out of the room to find Beau waiting, his eyes fell on the red marks around my throat and he exhaled

'What's going on with you today?' He linked me as we walked towards my office.

Once Beau closed the door, I growled furiously and thew the nearest chair into the wall, cracking it.

'What I wouldn't give to rip his f*cking throat out!' I shouted.

'Your time will come' Beau walked over and picked up the chair 'You're stronger then you know, you could take him down'

I thought back to what happened in the conference room, I'd been able to fight against him, thinking about him hurting Kat had given me strength, maybe once she was mine, I would finally have the power to end his life

'Did you hear me?' Beau asked and I looked over at him 'I have your back, you know his command can't work on me for long, if we work together we could'

'No' I shook my head 'I have to do it on my own and at least if I fail you and your family will be safe'

'But until then' Beau sighed and went over to my desk 'Paper work'

I laughed as he lifted a stack of papers from my in-tray

We worked for the rest of the day and night before heading up to our quarters in the pack house.

I had plans for my own place but I was waiting to become King or having Kat before getting it built so we could have a proper home, the life I dreamt about having with her calmed me and I fell asleep dreaming of our future.

My alarm went off early and I yarned and stretched, I usually worked out in the mornings but I was eager to see Kat one last time before my punishment took effect, I couldn't wait to see her with her new brother and sister, I loved seeing her happy.

I drove to the hospital and headed up to the birthing suites, a few other pack members were walking around holding new babies and I got trapped speaking to them and greeting the newest members of the pack.

We'd finally escaped and followed Kats scent down the hall to a private room and walked inside to see Shay and William sitting on a bed holding one of the babies wrapped in a blue blanket.

Shay looked exhausted but happy and William seemed thrilled.

'Alpha' He said and looked up at me in surprise

'Alpha look' Kat whispered from where she was sitting on a chair with her aunt Joy who was asleep on the couch, she was holding her little sister 'I am a big sister!'

She smiled and kissed her little sister, she was so adorable.

'Hi, I'm sorry to intrude' I said 'I had to come back to the hospital for something so I thought I'd meet the newest pack members'

'Thats really nice of you Alpha' Shay said as she leant back comfortably.

I walked over and knelt down beside Kat, I looked at the baby but really I just wanted to see Kat was happy before I spent 6 months avoiding her.

'Have you named them?'

'This is my Mia' Kat answered 'And Jerry'

'Jerome' Her father corrected

'No daddy, he likes Jerry'

'Isnt..' I hesitated and looked Shay 'That the name of'

'Of her first mate' William told me and kissed Shay's head

'Are you really sure Will because'

'Im sure' He said and kissed her again.

'Ew' Kat giggled 'Stop kissing, I have enough baby brothers and sisters'

Shay and William laughed but Shay shook her head.

'Thats good sweetheart because that's all your getting' She told her 'I am not doing that again'

Kat looked panicked 'But...' Tears filled her eyes and we all looked at her 'But why don't you love daddy anymore?'

‘What?’ William asked in confusion ‘Why do you think that?’

'Alpha Wyatt said if you love your mate you have his babies' She told them and they all looked at me 'So if Shay doesn't want to have daddies babies then that must mean she doesn't love him anymore, you have to do something daddy to make Shay love you again'

'Its alright bunny' Her father hushed her 'Shay still loves me, Alpha why would you tell her that?'

'She was worried about Shay and asked why anyone would go through that kind of pain so I explained it to her'

'With all due respect Alpha' William said in an annoyed tone and I suppressed a growl 'It isn't your place to be explaining anything to Kat, especially about mates or children, if she asks you anything like that in the future please tell her to ask me, I know Alphas see all of the packs children as their own but she is my pup and I will decide what’s best for her, I will speak to her about these kinds of things when she's older'

'Of course' I said as calmly as I could manage 'I apologies, I never meant to over step'

'Did I get Alpha Wyatt in trouble?' Kat asked 'I'm sorry'

'You have nothing to apologise for' I smiled at her 'Everythings alright'

'Ok' She said easily 'Do you want to hold my baby?’

'Yes'

I carefully took her baby sister and held her close to my chest, the only children I'd ever held were my sister’s, but her children were of Alpha blood and felt heavier

'She’s very light'

Kat giggled 'My baby brother ate all the food in Shay's tummy'

'Seems our sons a pig' William smiled joyfully 'But Mia will put weight on now that's she's out'

'Was Kat this light when she was born?' I asked

‘Daddy wasn’t there’ Kat said as she touched my arm to lean close to her baby sister.

‘Katomi’ He father glared at her, and she looked down, what the hell was that about

'Actually, I wasn't there when Kat was born' He told me with a tense tone 'Kelly was...away, I didn't see Katomi until she was a few days old but she was small'

How odd, why would his mate go away somewhere when she was due to give birth, most Lycan females prefer to be home at that time.

‘I see’

‘I’m big now though’ She smiled at me

‘Yes you are’ Her father looked at her ‘Big enough to know better’

‘Is something going on that I don’t know about?’ I asked William

He looked at Kat for a second before staring at me ‘I’m sorry Alpha’ He said quickly ‘It’s difficult for me to speak about Kat’s mother, if we could drop the subject’

‘It might be hard for you’ I linked him ‘But have you ever thought it might be good for Kat to talk about her mother, to remember her’

‘As I’ve said before Alpha’ He responded ‘Kat is my pup, I will decide what’s best for her, she has nightmares when her mother is brought up, please change the subject’

As if to break the tension, Mia began to fuss so I began to rock her as Kat hushed her and kissed her head ‘Go to sleep my baby’

‘She has a cute cry’ I commented as Mia drifted back off ‘It’s been a long time since I’ve held a baby’

‘You’re good with her Alpha’ Shay smiled at me ‘It will be your turn next’

I looked at Kat for a second before looked at Shay ‘I think that’s years away for me yet Shay’

‘You never know Alpha’ William shrugged ‘You could meet your girl tomorrow’

I smiled ‘Perhaps’

‘And then Alpha Wyatt will have babies too’ Kat said excitedly ‘And I can play with them!’

I laughed and looked at her ‘Will you?’

‘I promise’ She sounded very serious

‘I will hold you to that promise one day’ I smirked as Mia started fussing again

‘I think she might be hungry’ William said as he passed Jerome to Shay and climbed off the bed

‘I guess that’s my cue to leave’ I said a little reluctantly, I wouldn’t get to see Kat again for 6 months, I didn’t want to go

‘Will you come to the bbq Alpha Wyatt?’ Kat asked as I passed William his daughter

‘Oh, so now we get an invite’ I said to Kai who was whining about having to leave Kat alone

‘I’m sorry Kat but I can’t come’ I told her ‘In fact, I’m going to be very busy for the next few months so I probably wont see you for a long time’

‘Okay’ Kat pouted and looked down

‘You won’t even miss me’ I joked and tickled her, Kat laughed and tried to shove me away

I stood up messed her hair playfully before turning to William and Shay ‘Congratulations on your new pups, enjoy these first few days’

‘We will Alpha, thank you for coming to visit us’

I smiled and walked out of the room before I didn’t have the strength to go

END OF DREAM

I woke up with a start, it took me a second before I realised why Kat’s scent was around me.

I smiled and pulled her closer but she growled grumpily and turned around in her sleep, she climbed over top of me and snuggled up on top of my chest but I didn’t mind, I loved having her so close.

I wrapped my arms around her and closed my eyes and drifted back to sleep
