CHAPTER 23 – FORCED HAND

KATOMI’S POV

I couldn’t believe how rested I felt when I opened my eyes in the morning, I hadn’t slept this good ever and for the first time since my shifting, I didn’t have strange dreams.

Wyatt was beside me on his back, one arm thrown over his face while the other held me against his side.

I groaned lightly and stretched out, carful not the wake him as I slid out of the bed, out of instinct, Wyatt went to grab me, to keep me close but I dodged his hand by putting my pillow in the way, he moaned happily and rolled over, pressing his face into the pillow that still held my scent.

I looked at the clock, it was 6:30am, I hadn’t slept in this late in years and I knew there was no way Wyatt had so I made sure to stay quiet as I tiptoed towards his closet, after rooting around in his clothes, I found a button up shirt and pants that seemed like they would fit if I made some adjustments and I headed into shower.

Like last night, I used Wyatt’s toothbrush, there seemed to be something a little too intimate in this act for me, but I had no other choice, I’d have to remember to bring a few of my belongings over if I was planning on making these sleep overs a normal part of my life.

Once I finished up in the bathroom, I pulled on his clothes, I had to roll up the bottoms of his pants and I used my hair tie to tie off the waist band so they wouldn’t fall down and I pulled the button up shirt on, I unbuttoned a few of the bottom buttons and tied it off so it would fit me snugger before pulling my hair up into a loose bun and going back into the bedroom.

Wyatt was still sound asleep, part of me, a large part, wanted to wake him and have him kiss me again like last night, it felt so right laying beneath him, feeling his weight on top of me and having his lips on me.

‘So, wake mate up’ Remi complained

‘No’ I shook my head and snuck silently downstairs ‘He needs to rest, you and I both know he never gets to sleep this much’

‘Fine’ She pouted and cut me off grumpily

While I was making Wyatt and myself something to eat, there was a loud knock on the door, s**t, I quickly rushed to the front door and pulled it open so Wyatt wouldn’t get woken up from the noise.

‘Kat?’ Beau was standing there, wearing loose shorts and a hoody, his hair looked like it hadn’t been brushed in years and he was holding a stack of papers ‘Well, well, well’ He smirked and looked at my attire ‘Isn’t this a pleasant surprise, I didn’t expect to find you here so early in the morning or dressed in the Alpha’s clothing, have a little sleep over did we?’

‘Grow up’ I blushed and crossed my arms ‘Wyatt’s asleep, did you need him?

‘Is he now?’ Beau smiled as he came inside and looked at his watch, I rolled my eyes and shut the door

‘Yes, so please keep it down’ I ordered as I followed him back towards the living room ‘He needs his sleep’

Beau laughed and looked me over again ‘And just what did you do to our Alpha all night long that he would need so much sleep’ He asked and looked me up and down 'You still smell like a virgin, so I assume you did everything but the deed'

A loud growl sounded from the top of the staircase, and we looked up to find Wyatt dressed in his sweats from last night and a black shirt, his hair was ruffled in a sexy messy way, and I felt butterflies erupt inside of me

‘Speak to her like that again and I’ll put you through the f*cking wall’

‘Sorry’ Beau said quickly, though he still had a small smirk on his face

‘What are you doing here’ Wyatt asked as he came down the stairs, even in his casual outfit and his hair a mess he had a dominant powerful presence that screamed Alpha, I used to fear the power he exerted but now I felt something different, something that had butterflies erupting inside of me and made me wish we were alone and he was naked

‘Just needed your signature on a few things’ Beau indicated the papers in his hands ‘They need to get sent off today’

‘Right’ Wyatt nodded as he walked over to me, he pulled me in and kissed me passionately before leaving me breathless ‘Good morning baby’

‘Morning’ I said quietly and looked at my feet blushing

‘I’ll just be a second’ He nudged me gently under the chin with his finger so that I was looking up again ‘I’ll sign these forms and be back soon’

‘Ok’ I smiled at him as he ran his thumb over the bottom of my lip, leaving me feeling very excited ‘I’ll go finish making breakfast, do you want to join us Beta Bea, um.. Beau’ I corrected myself, it was still hard getting used to dropping everyone’s titles when I addressed them

‘That’ll be great’ He said happily ‘It’s been ages since a beautiful girls made me breakfast’

Wyatt growled again, his eyes glowing gold but I quickly touched his chest ‘He was just kidding around’

Wyatt sighed and shook his head ‘I really need to buy you a mirror so you can see how gorgeous you are’ He snapped before looking at his Beta ‘Don’t push me Beau, rain it in and stop flirting with my mate or I will let Kai have control and trust me, you don’t want that’

‘I meant nothing by it, I swear’ He assured Wyatt quickly ‘Just habit, you know’

‘Give me the papers’ Wyatt growled and reached out his hand

Beau handed them over and they both turned and headed towards Wyatt’s study while I returned to the kitchen, it’s lucky I was cooking for an Alpha because I had already prepared a lot of food, so there’d definitely be enough for Beau to join us, I pondered briefly if I should link Bron and get her to come to breakfast too but she always has cheerleading practice early on Sunday mornings.

I still remembered Bron begging me to join her squad after she saw me doing flips during my fight training one day but I’d refused, I’d rather fight then cheer on a group of i***t boys kicking a ball around

I set another plate down on the table and went back over to the stove to check on the scrambled eggs, I’d already made coffee, French and plain toast, fried tomatoes and seasoned greens, cut up fruit and the sausages and bacon for Wyatt and now Beau was cooking in the oven.

By the time I was placing everything on the table, the boys returned ‘Dam’ Beau said impressed ‘I really need to get myself a mate’

‘Not all girls cook for their mates’ I pointed out, if Bronwyn really was his mate and I hoped for her sake that she was, he’d be sadly disappointed, Bron hated to cook

‘Well then we’re going to starve because I sure as hell can’t cook’ Beau laughed and sat down

I laughed and sat down too as Wyatt just rolled his eyes, he kissed me on top of the head before sitting down next to me, I really loved every time he touched me, I still couldn’t believe he was mine

‘Thanks baby’ He said and picked up his fork ‘Everything looks amazing’

‘You really lucked out’ Beau shook his head at Wyatt ‘Seriously, Alpha’s get all the luck’

I laughed again and started putting eggs, french toast, tomatoes and greens on my plate but Wyatt looked at my plate and sighed, I knew what he was annoyed about, the fact that I didn’t touch the meat

Beau looked up at him with a confused expression, a mouth already full of sausage while his fork was already stabbing a second piece ‘What’s the matter?’

‘Nothing’ I said quickly and began eating

‘She refuses to eat meat’ Wyatt answered, his tone clipped

‘Wyatt’ I snapped at him

Beau looked at me in confusion ‘Since when?’ He asked ‘I’ve been to a few of your dad’s

BBQ’s and you’ve always eaten meat’

Wyatt looked at me, a slight frown on his face, I exhaled ‘I never ate it’ I told them ‘It was just for appearance’s sake, so people wouldn’t harass me about eating meat, kind of like a certain Alpha, who will remain nameless’

‘Yeah, I’d hide it too’ Beau commented, taking another bite of his sausage ‘It’s kind of odd, you know you'll get sick from not eating meat, don’t you’

‘I’ve tried to tell her’ Wyatt growled ‘She won’t f*cking listen’

‘Can’t you just be content with the fact that if I get sick you can say ‘’I told you so’’’ I mumbled

‘No’ Wyatt growled and gently gripped my hand ‘I’d be content with my mate not getting sick in the first place, you have no idea what it does to me when you’re in pain’

‘But I’m not in pain’ I pointed out ‘You have to stop worrying so much’

Beau smirked at me ‘It’s just a faze Wyatt, she’ll grow out of it’ He said patronizingly, and I envisioned punching him in his smug face ‘You know what kids are like these days’

‘I’m not a kid’ I defended myself, though the fact that I was currently pouting like one wasn’t helping my cause

‘Yes, maybe’ Wyatt said as though I wasn’t there, and I angrily pulled my hand out of his grip

‘Both of you just eat and leave me alone’ I sighed and sat back in my chair grumpily and bit into my French toast

‘Yes Luna’ Beau smirked at me, and I threw a strawberry at him

After watching the boys finish their third helping of food I started cleaning up while Wyatt walked Beau out, talking about pack business they needed to get done tomorrow

‘Leave it’ Wyatt pulled me into a hug from behind after he returned to the kitchen ‘I’ll clean up later’

‘You’ll clean it up?’ I teased him

Wyatt laughed ‘I’ll have my house keeper clean it up, I was thinking instead, we could shift and go for a run’

I turned in his arms nervously, I hadn’t shifted since my birthday, and I wasn’t in any rush to feel that kind of pain again

‘Um..’

‘It won’t hurt as much as the first time, I promise’ He told me reassuringly, his eyes trusting and eager ‘And Kai has been begging me to let him have time with Remi, she’d like that too, wouldn’t she?’

‘YES!’ Remi jumped around eagerly in my mind

I nodded ‘You could say that’ I answered

‘Great’ Wyatt smiled and pulled off his shirt before taking my hand, he gently dragged me out of the kitchen and towards the back yard while I tried and failed not to perv on him as we headed towards the tree line ‘You shift first, don’t be nervous and don’t fight the pain, it’ll be over quicker than last time’

I nodded and looked around shyly ‘Will you turn around?’ I asked as I went to undo the buttons of the shirt I was wearing, Wyatt sighed but turned ‘Are my stalkers around today?’

‘They aren’t stalkers’ Wyatt shook his head ‘They’re guards, for your protection but no, I gave them the rest of the day off’

‘Ok’ I was satisfied I wouldn’t be seen naked.

I quickly removed my clothes, blushing slightly at the realization that Wyatt was only a few feet away, I noticed his hands clenched into fists, he must have had the same realization

‘I don’t know how to start’ I admitted, it began naturally on my birthday, I didn’t have to do anything ‘Dad always said he’d teach me after my first shift but we haven’t had a chance to go for a run’

‘Good’ Wyatt commented ‘You’re mine, it’s my duty to teach you things now, not him, he shouldn’t even be talking about teaching you s**t anymore, if he’

‘Wyatt’ I said patiently ‘Can you leave my dad alone for one minute and focus, I'm literally standing here naked’

‘Right, sorry, just close your eyes and imagine Remi’ He got back on mission ‘Imagine her coming forward, remember her scent, her size, how beautiful her fur is, just let your mind fall away as she comes forth’

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes, I did as my mate instructed, I pictured Remi’s beautiful form and as the image grew clearer in my mind, a sharp pain shot through every bone in my body, and I screamed out and fell to my knees

‘Don’t fight it baby’ Wyatt’s voice was tense 'If you do it'll take longer'

I groaned in agony ‘I thought you said it would hurt less’ I snapped sarcastically

‘Just focus Kat’ Wyatt shook his head

I let myself fall to the back of my mind, but the pain intensified, and I screamed again, I could feel and hear my bones snapping and my skin being ripped and reformed, I started crying when finally Remi took control and the shift completed.

I laid in the back of my mind, breathing hard while Remi began stretching and shaking out her fur

'Are you ok Kat?' Remi linked me

'I'm alright' I assured her 'Just enjoy yourself, don't worry about me'

I saw Wyatt turn around, his eyes in awe like last week ‘You really are so beautiful Remi’ He told her, running his fingers through her silver fur, she purred and wagged her tale, nudging Wyatt with her snout and rubbing her body all over him ‘I’ve never seen a more beautiful Lycan’

Wyatt stepped back and began pulling down his sweats, I closed my eyes but I knew Remi hadn’t because she purred again in lust this time and Wyatt laughed

I listened as Wyatt’s body morphed and when I heard Kai growl playfully, I finally opened my eyes, a large black Lycan was towering over us, his tail wagging and he’s whole body shaking in joy.

He rubbed his entire body over ours, purring loudly ‘MINE!’ Kai growled possessively though the link

He stepped back and licked gently up Remi’s face before kneeling low and shaking his large body playfully before he pounded away, Remi barked, and the chase began.

Kai was so fast, but we held our own, keeping up with him, Remi pounced and bit Kai’s tail playfully before taking off to the right but Kai spun around and flew after us.

For the next three hours, our Lycan's played and rubbed against each other, I could feel Remi’s lust, it filled me, and I found myself wishing Kai would just take us on the forest floor but for a Lycan Alpha, he was behaving like a true gentleman.

Kai sat down on a patch of damp grass and sniffed the air before looking back at us with a strange look in his eyes ‘Are you hungry mate?’ He asked us

I was getting hungry after all this running ‘Yes’ Remi and I said together and laughed

Remi started back towards the house, but Kai howled ‘No’ He said ‘Come mate’

Kai raced away, going deeper into the woods, did they have a private cabin or something this far out, is that where they were leading us to?

The trees grew closer together, cutting off the sunshine and the flat surface of the ground grew rougher, there was a small spring running through the tree’s that fed off the huge lake around our town and I could smell a bunch of smaller animals scurrying around

‘Where are we going?’ I asked but both men ignored me and kept running ‘Kai?’

As we came out into a clearing, Remi froze, there was a herd of deer drinking by the edge of the spring, upon seeing us, they began to flee but Kai was too fast and too powerful, before I could say anything, he grabbed one of the large bucks by the throat and snapped its neck beneath he’s powerful jaw.

I was completely frozen, as was Remi, we were of the same mind set when it came to eating meat, though I would understand if she wanted to eat meat in her own form, even if it did hurt me but luckily she didn’t want to do it

She could feel the same feeling's as I did, we could feel the buck dying, we could feel it’s fear, it’s pain, I felt Remi cry as she looked at her mate.

Kai dragged the heavy carcass over to where we were standing still but Remi took a step back when the smell of blood engulfed us, they’d planned this, we knew they had, this is why Wyatt had wanted us to go running with them, to force our hand

‘Eat mate’ Kai growled through the link as he looked at us, his mouth dripping with blood, I felt like I would throw up

‘No’ Remi and I said together, and she shook her head.

The pain of the buck’s death was seeping into every inch of our body and I felt tremendously sick and afraid.

‘EAT!’ Kai ordered in his alpha tone

Remi whined, even she as his mate couldn’t refuse a direct order given by her Alpha but she was trying to

‘EAT!’ Kai shouted again before we could cut the link with them in order to stop him from using his command on us again

Remi whined in pain again, but she moved over to the deer, its dead eyes looked at us, haunting us, I could already feel the energy flowing off of its body, filling me with the deer’s last emotions, I began to cry as Remi bit into the animal, ripping chunks of meat away and swallowing it.

Once Wyatt and Kai were satisfied that we were eating, Kai knelt in and joined us, taking his fill.

A part of Remi loved the taste of the meat but a larger part was feeling extremely sick from the pain of the buck’s death so I knew she’d never willingly eat meat again, even though she liked the taste.

After we were done, Kai sat down and looked at us but Remi kept her eyes down, we were furious at our mate, I felt betrayed, he’d forced my hand, taken my choices away

‘We should tell mate the truth’ Remi wept privately to me ‘Mate wouldn’t have made us eat it if he knew we were half Fae’

I couldn’t say anything, I just wept, the deer’s last final crushing breaths still lingered in my mind, it felt as if I was the one who’d died, so much fear, so much pain.

Kai began licking Remi’s snout and paws, cleaning off the blood but we still remained silent, once Kai had cleaned himself up, he rubbed against us

‘Good mate’ He purred ‘Next time, you will make your own kill, I’ll teach you’

‘I want to go home’ I said, my voice void of emotion, the idea that they would force me to kill something horrified me

Kai whined and rubbed his head against us again, but Remi stepped away, she turned and ran back towards the house, Kai kept pace with us, he tried to get us to play, nipping at Remi’s feet but we just kept running so he whined

‘Mate’ Kai called out but I shut off the link

Once we reached our clothes, Remi picked them up in her teeth and rushed behind a bush, she shifted back and I dressed quickly, Wyatt and Kai doing the same

‘Kat?’ Wyatt called out as I fell to my knees and hurled ‘KAT!’

Wyatt rushed over to me and knelt by my side as I threw up again, tears falling down my face

‘I’m sorry baby’ He rubbed my back with one hand and held up hair back with his other ‘We had to do it, we had to force you, you’ll get sick, I can’t let that happen, even if you have to hate me for it’

Once I’d managed to gain control of my stomach, I wiped my mouth on the back of my hand and pulled myself to my feet using the tree next to me

‘Kat?’

‘I made a mistake being with you’ I slapped Wyatt’s hand away and looked up at him, my lips trembling and tears still flowing down my cheeks ‘My dads were right, I should have stayed away from you’

‘Baby please don’t say that’ He looked like he was in pain too but I didn’t care ‘I had’

‘You will never order me like that again’ I interrupted him angrily

‘Kat please, I had to do it, you’

‘YOU WILL NEVER USE YOUR COMMAND ON ME AGAIN!’ I screamed, my eyes burning with rage ‘I WANT TO GO HOME!’

‘Kat’

‘NOW!’ I was breathing hard, he tried to touch me again, but I shoved him away and ran back into the house

‘F*ck!’ I heard Wyatt growl before he ran after us

I went into Wyatt’s study where he kept his car keys and pulled out the first set I saw before marching out

‘Baby stop’ Wyatt grabbed my wrist, but I pulled free

‘GET OFF OF ME!’ I screamed as more tears fell down my face

‘Kat I’m not letting you drive anywhere like this’ Wyatt’s voice rose in fear ‘Give me the keys, I’ll drive you home’

I glared at him for a few seconds before I shoved the keys into his outstretched hand and marched out of the house, I didn’t bother getting my clothes, or my phone, I just wanted to go home.

After climbing into the car, I pulled up my knees and hugged them, keeping my eyes out the window and away from Wyatt who I could feel looking at me on and off as he took me home.

Once we pulled into the driveway, I threw open the door, but Wyatt grabbed my arm before I could get out

‘Katomi ’ He sounded pleading, but I was so furious I didn’t care ‘Please baby, look at me’

‘No’ I growled ‘I don’t know you, I don’t want anything to do with you’ I cried ‘You had no right to do that to me, to Remi’

‘Remi is a Lycan’ Wyatt growled, he sounded hurt ‘She needs the meat’

‘I WILL DECIDE WHAT WE NEED’ I raged and pulled my arm free ‘NOT YOU!’

I jumped out of the car and ran into my house, slamming the door behind me and running towards the stairs, I wanted the sanctuary of my room

‘Bunny?’ My dad called out in concern when he saw how upset I was

‘Just leave me alone!’ I shouted and ran up the staircase but I heard him rush up the stairs behind me..
