Dad

Calla’s POV “What is he doing here?.” Dad asks one more time. I had this rehearsed but f**k I’m unable to say anything. “I don’t want this killer in my home,” Dad yells. “Dad please.” It sounded more like a whisper. “Listen to your father Callie. He knows the best for you.” Mom says. “Just give me a chance to explain myself,” Dommy says. Dad wasn’t happy. I could see it. I don’t want a situation when Dad gets angry and Dommy loses it too, Dommy’s anger is the worst, he does know how to control it but sometimes he doesn’t. “Can we sit and talk?.” I boldly said. I mustered a lot of courage to say this. “You brought this man into my home, he murders people Calla and you are with him.” My dad says. He called my name. He must be pissed off. Dad normally calls me his pumpkin, but hearing him say my name sounded so foreign, he never calls me by my name. “Daddy please.” My voice came out cracking, I knew I would soon break down. I hate that the two most important people in my life don’t like each other, I hate the fact they can’t stand being in the same room. “Five minutes,” Dad says. “Thank would speak to him alone,” Dad adds interrupting me. Fuck. I glanced at Dommy. “It will be fine.” He muttered. I trust Dommy not to say anything to my father, he won’t want to make it worse than it already is. Waiting for them was like hell, I didn’t say anything to Mom. She didn’t speak to me either, I did try talking to her but she made it clear if it wasn’t about leaving Dommy then she had nothing to say to me. I had no idea they would take it this seriously, I hate it admit but I hated the fact they were judging him because of his work, Dommy is so much more than a mafia king, he is a whole different person than he is when he is at the warehouse and Dommy would never hurt his loved ones, he will always protect them and make sure nothing happens to them. “Get the f**k out, you son of a bitch.” I heard my father's voice, it was coming from the study room. I didn’t care. I quickly rushed upstairs and into the room. “Dommy,” I whisper. “What is going on?.” “We are not welcome Calla,” Dommy says bitterly. Dad must have said something for Dommy to want to leave, I know Dominick, he knows this is important to me. “Dad what is going on?.” “Will someone tell me what happened here?.” I found myself yelling, tears brimming down my cheek. “I’m never going to accept this relationship, and I can’t live with the fact my daughter is with a killer.” “I love him.” “He will destroy your life, Calla,” “What do you want me to do?.” I found myself asking. Dommy still has a tight grip on my hand, I know he is not letting me go ever neither I am. “Leave him, we are your parents we know the best for you” “Your father is right, he is just a stupid bastard. He kills people who knows if he would kill you too.” “I would never hurt Calla,” Dommy says. “Your family once killed your brother, if you can kill your brother you can do anything.” How did Dad know about this? We made sure the real truth didn’t get out. “How do you know about that?.” “My associate told me,” Dad says. Associate. The same person informed them about Dommy’s real identity and told them all these things. “I need you to believe me over him, Dommy is good.” “A killer can never be good Calla,” Dad says and I shake my head. “Daddy please, don’t do this.” “I will make sure you don’t stay long with this man, I know he made you think you love him, but you don’t,” Dad says. Whatever his associate told me, he hates Dommy because of that. More tears fill my eyes. “Leave my home, you killer,” Dad says. “Tell your associate I’m coming for him,” Dommy says. I hated how he called Dommy a killer, it’s not Dommy’s fault he has this life, he didn’t choose this for himself, he didn’t ask for this, and he wasn’t given a choice. No one asked him if this was what he wanted. “It’s not his fault, I wish you could see him the way I do, I wish you could see him through my eyes,” I say before leaving. I know talking to Dad at that moment won’t be of any help, he is not ready to listen to anyone, he has been fed lies and manipulated by his associates. I didn’t say anything when we got into the car, Dommy knew I wasn’t in the mood to speak. He wrapped his hand around my waist and drew me closer to him, hiding my face in his coat. He will never hurt me, I know that. He has saved me before and I know he will always will. When we got home. I went upstairs without saying a word, it went a lot worse than I expected. “Calla.” I didn’t realize I had been sitting on the bathroom floor with the shower turned on. “You will get sick,” Dommy says and I sniff. I have never cried like this. I can’t believe my Dad, he would believe Dommy is wrong, and I know my father would do anything in his power to make me leave Dommy. “He is going to separate us,” I whispered. “I won’t let, not now not ever.” He kisses me. He gave out his hand and I took it, I stood up, and he helped me take off my clothes. “This water is better.” He says he made me a warm bath. “Join me, don’t leave.” “I would never leave you.” He says and I smile weakly. After the bath. I change into a clean cloth, some shorts and a crop top. I wanted to know what happened between Dommy and my father, Dommy seemed pissed off when he told Dad to warn his associate, it must be someone Dommy hated. “You need to eat something,” Dommy says. “I will tell you everything that happened once you eat, I promise,” Dommy adds. I open my mouth and he feeds me the spaghetti, I know I can’t be happy without my parent's blessings, they have given me everything I ever wanted, they have been the perfect parents I don’t want to hurt them. Maya knows them just like I do, they treated her just like their daughter maybe her talking to them would help. I push out all the thoughts and finish the spaghetti. “What happened with my Dad?.” I asked Dommy once he got back to the room.
