Chapter 11
Emerging from the preceding storefront, Mu Lin walked toward another shop that appeared less crowded. Inside, only two attendants were present, but their smiles seemed more genuine compared to the previous establishment.
"May I assist you?" the saleswoman asked Mu Lin with a smile.
Shaking her head lightly, Mu Lin replied, "No, thank you. I prefer to browse on my own." She enjoyed choosing items without the presence of others.
"Very well. If you decide on something, just let me know," the saleswoman said without further ado.
Working in a large shopping mall, they encountered countless people daily, each with their unique personalities. Some preferred constant attention, believing it enhanced their perceived importance. However, there were others who disliked being followed. In the eyes of the attendants, Mu Lin belonged to the latter category. Though she might seem challenging to approach, she exuded an air of tranquility.
...
"Alright, this is the one." Radiant and elegant, adorned with subtle makeup, she exuded an air of aristocracy.
Indeed, she resembled a high-class lady, or rather, a young aristocrat.
Upon hearing this, the two companions trailing behind with numerous bags exchanged glances and sighed once again.
Truly, they disliked accompanying their younger aunt on shopping trips. It felt more laborious than labor itself.
As the doorbell rang, the trio entered the shop. The woman promptly approached the clothing racks, while the two followers found their way to the resting area, visibly fatigued.
Sighs of exhaustion filled the air, one person wearing a pained expression as they repeatedly sighed, hitting their own legs.
However, in the next moment, their eyes suddenly lit up.
"Hey, hey, hey, Chen, look, isn't that the beautiful girl from earlier?" Zhou Yujun exclaimed with unparalleled excitement as he pointed towards the cashier.
"I've told you, if you call me 'Chen' again, I'll end you. Can't you remember?" Zhou Yichen's face turned dark. From birth, Zhou Yujun had treated him as an older brother merely because he emerged from the womb two minutes earlier, making him want to end his cousin's existence.
Zhou Yujun and Zhou Yichen were paternal cousins, born almost simultaneously due to their mothers' pregnancies aligning. However, Zhou Yujun had the advantage of being two minutes older, a fact he had exploited continuously.
Hearing the teeth-gritting tone, Zhou Yujun rolled his eyes, seeming bored. "It's been twenty years, and you still haven't killed me. At most, we've had a few fights."
Facing the cold gaze fixed on his handsome face...
"Alright, alright, I won't call you that anymore. But, lift your head and look ahead."
"Tsk, tsk, tsk, destined to encounter this monkey dung!" A strange smile surfaced, revealing his true nature as a shameless perve*t.
Zhou Yichen raised his head, and that slender figure in light blue instantly appeared in his line of sight. He casually remarked, "Didn't expect to meet again so soon."
"Let's go and get acquainted," Zhou Yujun couldn't wait. As soon as he spoke, he briskly moved towards Mu Lin, with Zhou Yichen following.
"Hello, beautiful, I'm Zhou Yujun. Would you mind if we get to know each other?" His voice carried a hint of cheekiness.
Mu Lin never expected to be approached like this. After receiving her card and clothes from the cashier, she turned around, glanced at Zhou Yujun, and responded with unparalleled indifference, "Not interested." This elicited a smirk from the now-smiling Zhou Yichen, who had just caught up.
Indeed, intriguing.
With a subconscious kick, Mu Lin smoothly evaded the two and left them behind with a sweep of her sleeves, carrying away not a cloud but the curiosity and exploration of the two young men.
"Definitely better to keep a distance," Zhou Yichen murmured, speaking as if to himself, before returning to the waiting area, leaving a certain fool to question life.
Born two minutes later – truly the pain of his life.
...
Returning home in the evening, the two collapsed completely on the sofa, resembling lifeless bodies.
They truly admired their young aunt's unparalleled, terrifying power – she could render people half-dead, half-alive within minutes.
"So young, yet so useless," looking at the niece lying like a corpse, Zhou Fanzhi appeared elegant and composed.
Just a shopping trip, each time feeling as if they had escaped from an execution ground – she had no energy left to complain.
Ignoring the comments about their aunt, Zhou Yichen and Zhou Yujun chose to ignore them.
Women, truly terrifying.
"Back already," descending the stairs, Zhou Jiansheng smiled at the trio on the sofa. "Dragged into servitude again?"
A blatant rhetorical question.
Upon hearing the newcomer, the two who were previously lying down promptly sat up, respectfully calling out, "Grandpa."
Zhou Fanzhi stood up, walked to Zhou Jiansheng's side, and held his arm, heading towards the sofa. She smiled elegantly, "Dad, you seem unusually happy today. Did something good happen?" Her father's meticulous demeanor indicated a pleasant mood today.
"Yeah, met an interesting young girl," thinking of Mu Lin, Zhou Jiansheng's mood inexplicably improved.
"If she has caught Grandpa's eye, she must be exceptional," Zhou Fanzhi concurred, intrigued about the kind of girl who could captivate her father's attention to this extent.
"Well, indeed. Especially her medical skills; though I haven't fully understood them, they seem quite impressive." And in the day after tomorrow, he would probably witness them firsthand.
"She studies medicine?" Simultaneous inquiries; unexpectedly, both of them thought of the girl they encountered that afternoon.
"Yes, and she specializes in traditional Chinese medicine." Frankly, traditional Chinese medicine was rare, and female practitioners were even scarcer. Compared to Western medicine, mastering traditional Chinese medicine was more challenging.
"That is indeed rare," Zhou Fanzhi remarked, understanding why her father held such admiration.
"Yes," Zhou Jiansheng nodded. After dinner, he couldn't wait to go out and have a chat with that old friend of his. One minute was truly too long to wait.
He needed to hurry and share this discovery!
