It took Jake an hour to calm down and by that point, he knew he didn’t want to turn around. He didn’t even remember how he got this far but here he was one hour away from downtown Miami on the Florida turnpike heading north. The Lincoln had SunPass and it went through the RFID lanes, charging tolls. He approached the end of Broward County and he had to decide if he wanted to take the interstate, pull over, and call the cops. He tried Xavier two times already but got no answer. He didn’t want to leave a message. The series of events didn’t lend itself to leaving messages.
