Maddie’s POV: Those were a lot of dress designs and an awful amount of jewelry. But thankfully this time they weren’t all Disney Princess dresses, there were a lot of nice and pretty dresses to choose from. Also not only had the designer brought necklaces and earrings but a whole lot of other shiny things; bracelets, anklets, arm bands, rings, toe rings and plenty other stuffs. I felt a gentle nudge from behind and looked behind me to see a very regal looking Darren. ‘ Oh wow. You really outdid yourself this time Chris ’, Darren said. The designer; Chris, gave a gentle bow. ‘ It’s not everyday one gets called by the great Lord Darren ’, Chris said. ‘ So what do you want to pick out for her my Lord? ’ Darren chuckled a bit. ‘ You know what. This time she’ll pick whatever she wants by herself ’, he said. Did I just hear him well? Did he just say I could pick whatever I wanted. I really couldn’t hide the joy in my heart because I had a huge smile on my face. Darren left and then it was just me and the designer in the room and I had the right to pick anything I wanted. I couldn’t hide the joy inside of me. After going through a lot of dresses I finally picked out one. It was a black dress with a long slit by the side and it looked perfect. I picked out a pair of black stilettos to go with it and then some pieces of jewelry. To be honest I was getting a little scared because they all looked really expensive. Darren returned to the room and was read the ridiculous price but didn’t even flinch. He just brought out his checkbook and wrote a check. ‘ Wait, you’re just going to pay? Just like that? ’, I asked. He turned and glared at me, ‘ Should I not? ’, he asked. ‘ No, no. I just mean that’s an awful amount of money ’, I said to him, as if he didn’t already know that. ‘ Oh wow, I didn’t know that Goofy ’, he said sarcastically then chuckled. ‘ Ha ha ha ’, I said then hissed. ‘ You picked out clothes by yourself and now that I want to pay, you complain. What exactly do you want? ’, he said. ‘ You’re right. It’s just, life was never these easy, I worked all day without pay and even when I got a change of clothes they were usually hand me downs from my foster siblings. And now I was getting bought a dress and jewelries that cost thousands of dollars. It’s just a little hard to process’, I rambled. I looked up at him and I really couldn’t describe the emotion on his face. He leaned on the table, ‘ I understand how you feel ’, he said. How could he definitely understand how I felt. He had probably been swimming in money since he could walk. ‘ I didn’t have it easy growing up too ’, he said to me. ‘ What? ’, I asked sharply. ‘ Nothing ‘, he said sharply which made me feel down. ‘ I’m just saying I know it’s shocking that you were once really poor and now you’re getting things you never imagined you could get. It’s not bad to feel that way. It’s actually good ’, he said as he tore the check and handed it to the designer. ‘You’re a good person Goofy’. Wow Darren was actually being nice… maybe he hit his head or something. He headed for the door and said, ‘ the maid will come get you soon. A dance instructor is on his way and you’ll need to be thought how to ball dance properly ’. He left the room. A few minutes later, the maid came into my room to get me. ‘The dance instructor is here’, she said. I got changed into a pair of sweats while the maid waited outside for me. I went with the maid, we walked down stairs and into the dining room. There was no longer any furniture in the dining room. They had all been cleared for the dance training. The dance instructor was busy talking with Darren. ‘ There she is ’, Darren said as he noticed me. ‘ Hello. I’m going to be your instructor today ’, he said to me. ‘ C’mon no need to be so formal ’, Darren said to him then chuckled. ‘ Maddie, meet Martinez. He’s one of the best dancer’s I know ’, Martinez took a bow as Darren sang his praises. Darren left the room and then it was just me and the dancer remaining. ‘ Okay let’s begin ’, the dancer said. He went to his music box and put in on. Fancy music began playing. He moved towards me then stretched his hand out to me. I stretched mine to him and then we began. He talked an awful lot about the history of dancing which was really boring but finally we got to dancing. We danced for a while and it wasn’t so bad. It made me feel quite… elegant. And he was actually a really good teacher. After a while Darren came back to check on how well I was doing. The instructor stepped away from me to switch off the music and looked over to Darren. ‘ She’s a natural Lord Darren and she learns quite quickly ’, he said. Darren nods, ‘ Hmm, very good. Are you enjoying your lesson goofy? ’. I was a little pissed that he called me goofy but I really was enjoying the dance lesson. ‘It’s alright’, I said. I tried not to sound like I was enjoying it. He looked at me then smirked then he dismissed the instructor. He walked to the music box and turned it back on. He walked slowly to me. ‘ Shall we dance? ’, he asked stretching his hands towards me. I smirked then took his hands. He twirled me into his arms. We fell in step, letting the rhythm control our movements. It felt as though it was just both of us left in the world. His eyes glistened and a smile spread across his face. ‘ Are you sure you never danced before this? ’. ‘ Not really ’, I replied. ‘ Hmm… well you really are a natural ’, he said as he swirled me out of his hands then pulled me back to his chest and then I wrapped my arms around his neck, looking up at him. . We were really close to each other. Like really close. I had to look away. ‘ Are you shy goofy? ’, he asked. ‘ No! ’, I said defensively. My face was red. Why was it red? Was it because of Darren. Oh my God. Come on Maddie, he’s a vampire. A blood sucking vampire. But he smelt so good and oh my God his hair… Get a hold of your self Maddie. The song came to and end and that was when I noticed that a smile had made it’s way to my face. ‘ Hmm ‘, Darren let out. I rubbed the smile away from my face. ‘What?’, I asked trying to sound rude. ‘ Nothing. You just have a beautiful smile ’, he said. ‘ I know ‘, I said with a smug smile then left to get a bottle of water. I didn’t see him but I knew there was a smirk on his face. He chuckled then called for the instructor. ‘I’ll leave you guys to your dancing’, he said as he walked away. The instructor started the music again but the song faded past my ears as I watched Darren leave the room. The dance lesson finally came to an end. My instructor praised me for learning so fast then he left. I went back to my room. Then I went into the bathroom to get a shower. A nice shower to help end the long day but what was weird was that I kept thinking of Darren.
