Maddie’s POV:
A letter came in for Darren this morning and I could see that his eyes widened when he heard who it was from. I wondered who it could be I didn’t quite get the name but it seems to be another Lord, must be some important dude. I noticed that almost all vampire dudes were all very important. Lords, and dukes and all, can’t there just be a normal vampire, like no role or position or something? But that’s beside the point. Anyway Darren hadn’t really been the same, nothing too bad but he just hadn’t been acting how he usually was and I could feel that something wasn’t right. But what?
It was night time and Darren still hadn’t returned to the bedroom. I went to Darren’s study and I saw him reading the letter. He immediately sealed it when I came in.
