Maddie’s POV:
My head was banging and I was still trying to process everything that was happening. Last thing I could remember was that I was in a party and then… that’s it. Everything went black and now I was lying on my bed. I looked at Darren who’s face was surprisingly glowing in happiness as he stared at me.
‘ What happened? ’, I asked feeling really confused.
Darren was still staring at me, he hadn’t broken his gaze. ‘ I can’t believe you’re awake ’, he said then chuckled a bit with a little bit of a sob in his voice.
‘ What do you mean? ’, I asked him. Darren wasn’t making things any better, he just made me more confused than I already was.
He paused for a while then he sighed. ‘ You were poisoned Maddie ’, he said.
