Of all places, Danica thought, Of all places, why here? She'd lost count of the amount of times she'd hoped to bump into him in the streets outside work, or in the supermarket, or in any of the numerous ways they'd crossed paths before. Everything she had to say to him had been planned in her head in case such an opportunity arose, but here it was impossible – the choice words she had, and the confrontation itself, weren't suitable for her best friend's wedding day.
