“It’s really a pity that you have to go now,” our manager said once I handed in an immediate resignation. “Your colleagues have been telling me that you’re a hardworking one.” I shyly smiled and lowered my head a bit. “Anyway, your resignation is effective immediately,” she continued, then stood up and offered her hand to me. “I’m wishing you the best of luck on your new journey.” I heaved a sigh, followed right after her, and shook her hand with a smile.
