CHAPTER SIXTEEN July 2, 2010 Morning When Calvin woke, stiff and aching, on the exposed roof, the first thing he saw was a white church spire, thrusting above the rooftops. Percy’s buried there. That’s what Mrs. Seabrook had told him. He lodged the location in his mind, then descended. A few wrong turns later, he stood before the building in the morning light. The church was humble, with whitewashed walls and a picket fence. He let himself in through the latch gate and was immediately accosted by the presence of a massive white marble angel towering over a grave in the far right corner.
