Bella’s POV
The air felt heavy, each breath a struggle. My chest tightened as I tried to breathe, but the acrid smell of smoke invaded my senses, stinging my eyes and throat. Panic surged through me as I opened my eyes, only to be greeted by thick, suffocating clouds of smoke swirling in the dim light.
FIRE!
The realization hit me like a jolt of lightning. Flames crackled somewhere nearby, their menacing growls growing louder.
