Chapter 57
I took my position at the front with Halvor. Everyone was tense and any sounds from the surrounding wilderness put everyone on edge. The road was surrounded by dense brush, which was perfect for bandits or spies to hide in. We needed to find an open field to make camp in if possible. Periodically I focused my gift to see if there was anyone hiding up ahead. Halvor caught onto what I was doing and would glance over at me. “Anything up ahead?” He finally asked. I shook my head “I don’t see anything.” Halvor nodded “Good. There should be a large clearing up ahead and then tomorrow we should be at one of the estates.” I looked over at him and furrowed my brow. “How do you know?” He chuckled and said “You don’t think Inhar is the only one with good spies do you?” I smiled and lau
