Present Cassie's POV "Ugh" I woke up groggily with the sun right into my face. Great, it was already morning. I swear I just went to sleep and now it's my first day as a senior. That thought already ruining my morning making my mood drop, as if it was high. I took quick shower in my joined bathroom found in my average size room. I had a queen size bed, purple colored walls and some of my paintings hung around the house. After my shower I wore a pair of jeans and a simple black shirt with my Nike sneakers. Yeah I'm that kind of girl. Just simple old me. I went into the kitchen kissed my mom morning when my seven year old brother came running in the kitchen my step dad Reid in tow. "Cass I'm finally going to go to school like you!" he said his blonde locks bounced up and down while he was overexcited. I mean it's just school. Stephen is an exact replica of Reid. They both have blonde hair and blue eyes but he's got his small nose and face structure from Mum. "That's great buddy. Maybe I could pick you up after school and we could go for ice cream." I said and ruffled his golden hair. "That's a great idea! Reid and I was going on date tonight. Just return early okay. I'll keep dinner on the counter." mom said kissing my forehead "Sure thing mom, bye." I replied and walked out the door. Even though Reid is not my dad I like him very much he's cool and he makes my mom happy. He's not trying to replace my dad and I'm really grateful for that. I was broke out of my reverie by a car horn. I saw my two best friends in Viv's red car. I don't even what type of car it is. "Oh my god Cass you've gotten taller through holiday." was the first thing I heard when I got in the car from Viv "Good morning to you too Viv." I said sarcastically rolling my eyes, but there's a smile on my face anyway "Morning Cass," was the greeting I got from Alex. It seems like she's in a bad mood. Must be because of school, because Alex absolutely hates school. I mean who doesn't right. These are my two amazing best friends Genevieve Storm, Viv as we call her, a very short Latina with outgoing personality, sarcastic and had a witty mouth which is always getting her in trouble. Alexandria Johnson, goes by Alex and absolutely hate it when people calls her by her full name, she has a really short temper that matches her unruly red hair. While I on the other hand. I'm the opposite of Viv, while she's outgoing I'm shy with people outside my friend group. If you know me...well you wish you didn't because I can be loud! And mean, well sometimes We carpooled to school like we usually do. We arrived at the gate of the school with some time to spare. Bridge High school is a two storey building with aging classes and some graffiti here and there but it's not so bad. The students are like any other you'll ever see. We do have some of those wannabe queen bees, but I never interacted with them. When we got to school we were waiting for Matt our other friend. He was running a bit late so we went to the reception to get our schedule. We fortunately got the same locker as last year's, next to each other. "Guys let's see if we have the same time table." I said and checked our. time tables "So I have English with Viv an AP Chemistry with you Alex. Oh! We all have history and P.E together great!" I said handing them back their time table. The first bell rang "Bye, guys I have math now so I'll see you later." I waved them goodbye and left for my first class. When I arrived to class there weren't many students yet so I took a seat at back and wait for the teacher to arrive so we can start the lesson. **** I came out English class with Viv and headed for the cafeteria since it was lunch time. We got our food, paid the lunch lady and head to our usual table where Alex was at. "Hey guys" Matt said as he sat down with his tray of fries. I stole one and questioned him "Hey Matt, where were you this morning?" I asked him looking in his warm friendly brown eyes "I had some family business I had to deal with." he replied vaguely avoiding my eyes scratching his dirty blonde hair "Is it something we should be worried about." Viv asked worriedly "No it's nothing" he said not meeting our eyes fully and went back to eating his pizza. "So how was your weekend?" I redirected the attention to Alex "Ugh, the same it was really boring. The only fun I had was going out with you guys." She replied "Well you met some cute guys that counts right." Viv said "Like I'm interested." She replied dryly rolling her eyes "We're so boring" I stated while slumping down on my seats. "Speak for yourselves. I went in LA or did you forget. I got a nice tan and met some hot girls. I mean who wouldn't want a piece of this." He said cockily while pointing to himself. We all rolled our eyes at him. That's Matt for you, the only guy in the group. **** After the last bell we all went our separate ways. I went to pick Stephen at his new school. I waited for him near the school gates. When he exited the school and ran into my arms when he saw me. "Hey there buddy, How was school?" I said ruffling his blonde hair. "It was great I made some new friends and then played together. It was so fun." He replied with more energy than me. We went to the ice cream parlor. He got a bubblegum while I got a chocolate ice cream. I know boring but it's my favorite. He was telling about his day and his new friends. We were talking and laughing that time passed by so fast that we realized how late it was when the rain started to pour down rapidly. I grabbed my brother by his arms while trying to cover him from the rain with my arm. We ran to a nearby café. It was when we reached there that we realized it was closed. We stood outside the shop for some time waiting for the rain to pass. I couldn't call mom because I didn't want to interrupt her date. Its been a while since she went out with Reid. We sat on a outdoor bench in our wet clothes with no umbrella and freezing from the cold. A lightning flashed and a shaking was startled, Stephen jolt squeezed me with his small cold hands. Then I saw a figure approaching the café under an umbrella. I guess the person didn't see the closed sign because he still approached the the building. It wasn't until he reached close to us did I see how handsome he was. He looked a like year older than me, he is like really tall about 6'1, he looks really muscular like really, I could see his shirt straining on him. I could see his dark hair in the dark, but I couldn't recognize the color of his eyes but I bet it was pretty. I didn't know I was staring at him until Stephen scooted closer to me. Maybe feeling intimidated by the stranger. He didn't notice us as he peered through the café's window. That was until... "Achoo!"
