ADRIANNA POV
"Look who is finally here!" Adrianna's aunt screeched as she rushed to hug her, her luggage be damned.
"Aunty, I can't breathe!" Adrianna mock complained, before the two laughed and exchanged pleasantries.
"Your parents arrived a day before. Go meet them. I will send your luggage to your room."
Adrianna caught up with a few cousins on her way to her parents' room and could sense the happiness and excitement that everyone harboured. It truly felt great to be a part of such family gatherings again. And suddenly, for a brief moment, she realised all that she had given up post her sham of a marriage. And she knew that that relief and happiness were visible on her face too. Partly due to this reunion of sorts and partly due to someone who now constantly occupied her thoughts.
