When Adrianna had received a call last week to set up an appointment for her new venture, she had thought of multiple possibilities of how the meeting could go - the investor might express disinterest, or ask for a greater percentage of ownership, or maybe place a few unfavourable conditions. But never in her wildest dreams had she thought that she would come face to face with Maisie's brother and Elton's friend, the one around whom she felt she got tongue-tied, the one whose personality was quite intense and intimidating, the one who had reacted a bit weirdly at the party after Marvin had introduced her as his daughter-in-law.
