Adrianna POV
Adrianna looked at the time. It was forty minutes past 11 and yet Daniel hadn't come back. He had asked her to go to sleep as he had some work to do and it would take time. She wanted to stay up for him but she was wiser than that. She had already given him enough grief over not taking care of her health. She didn't want to take any risk by staying up late.
As she pulled the duvet over herself, she couldn't shake off the intimidating aura that he had had when she had met him at Maisie's. And the aura had been constant. That was the Daniel that she used to know, once upon a time, when they were strangers. The intimidating, unnerving Daniel. But beneath all that frustration and warnings, she knew that he was deeply concerned about her well-being.
