Will you be my luna

I pushed away Arnou’s hand from my waist and straightened up to look at the mouth of the garden where Eden was standing. Apparently, it was already time to show the important guest the new garden statue because standing closely behind Eden was Nikkini, the Lunas, and some other esteemed guests. “What exactly are you trying to do? Are you trying to seduce the Lycan king?” Nikkini asked me in a very loud voice while gesturing to the other Lunas. As expected, she never loses a chance to embarrass or undermine me. “Nikkini shut up and stay out of this, you have no idea what’s going on.” I replied her as I took a step away from Arnou. “Oh please, stop acting so innocent. We all know you tricked Alpha Eden into joining with you, now you’re trying to seduce his majesty with the same method. I mean how a married woman can be so shameless is beyond me. Even if you have no regard for your marriage, at least have some regard for your position as luna.” Nikkini outright attacked me with her words. I tried to explain, but before I could even speak a word, I was interrupted by Eden. “Just shut up, I’m not interested in what you have to say.” I was so hurt and embarrassed. My husband just told me to shut up and took the side of my sister in front of this entire people. I have been dealing with the pressure in my chest all day, I came to the garden to try and unwind, but the entire argument is really getting to me. Before I could open my mouth and spew the loads of hurt in my heart, Arnou finally decided to step into the discussion. “Alright look everyone hold your horses. What actually happened is unlike what’s going on in your head. She was just taking a stroll in the garden and tripped. All I did was help a little.” His voice did little to calm the storm that was raging inside of me, I was so angry; I could feel my hands trembling. I pressed my lip in a thin line and tried to fist my palms at the side of my dress. “Please your majesty, for your own sake don’t be fooled by Daciana. Her so called tripping was just a tactic. She did that just to get your attention.” Arnou tried to reply, but I didn’t let him. That anger that had been brewing inside me all day just came spilling out. “That’s Luna Daciana to you. You do not hold any relevant position so you do not get to address me without my title. You think everyone behaves as shamelessly as you. Having an affair a married man and disregarding all the sacred vows of our joining.” The whole place went silent and Nikkini went white with shock. “That…that’s not true.” Eden replied flustered. “Yes it is, and you bloody well know it. I heard the sounds of the two of you having s*x yesterday night. That I kept silent all day is not because you deserve any mercy, but because I wanted the festival to go peacefully.” I replied still trembling with anger.” “All I hear is a lot of talk, where is your evidence Luna Daciana?” Nikkini asked me mockingly. Evidence, is she really asking me for evidence of her cheating with my husband? I was so speechless from anger. Eden looked so smug; it took all my willpower not to smack that stupid smug smile off his face. “You need to stop assuming things. Nikkini and I were just discussing security Issues. I even informed you about it.” “What exactly do you take me for, that you’ll just do and say anything you feel like and I’ll take it?” I yelled at him in so much anger, I could feel tears streaming down my face. I don’t care that we’re in front of so many important people. I’m tired of being used, humiliated, and discarded. I thought that when I got married it would be better, but here I am back to square one. Facing the same problems I had to tolerate while growing up. Eden stalked towards me, that same sickening smile on his face. “So you came to the garden alone in an attempt to seduce the Lycan king, but now that you have been caught, you’re attempting to falsely accuse me of cheating?” He roared in a false outrage “You devious woman, you even accused Nikkini your own sister. I never expected you to be so jealous, shameless, and vicious. I’m going to immediately break the mate bond with you. A woman like you does not deserve to be luna.” I panicked plain and simple. I could barely hear anything over the loud sound of bells in my ear. Yes I wanted to confront them about the cheating, but I never thought I would get divorced on the day of the celebration. It’s not that I’m holding on to Eden, No. He has proved time and time again that he’s a piece of s**t. But the pack, being their luna, holding their hands, knowing their names and the names of their loved ones. The way they look up to me with so much love makes me feel like I finally have a family of my own. I enjoy being Luna, and I’m a really good one If I do say so myself. I don’t mind losing Eden but I can’t lose the pack. So no I won’t accept this divorce. “No, I won’t let you do that. I refuse this divorce.” I said quietly in a small calm voice. “You don’t control what I can and cannot do, I Eden, Alpha of the blood diamond pack, reject you as my mate and strip you of your position as Luna.” Eden said the official bond breaking words. I felt my soul cleave into two as the weak mate bond was pulled apart inside me. Even my wolf whimpered a bit from the pain, not the physical kind, but the soul wrecking kind. I never really loved Eden, I just loved the idea of what he represented for me. The freedom, the power, and the ability to finally have a family of my own. He never really gave me what I wanted anyway; all he did was serve me disappointment after disappointment for the full three years of marriage. I know my marriage has been toxic, but I was holding on to the sense of security offered by my position as Luna of the pack. “I accept the end of this marriage.” I whispered in shock. Tears spilled down my eyes, as I stared at the mass of people standing opposite me at the end of the garden walk. I was so humiliated; I could hear the whispers of the other Lunas. I could feel their mocking pity. I had to be the first Luna to get divorced on such a big occasion as the annual festival. I could see Nikkini smiling mockingly at me. I’m very sure she was the one who planned and instigated everything. All the anger and fight just bled out of me. I wanted to escape here immediately, but when I was about to walk away, I feel someone dragged me from behind and said: “Will you be my Luna?”
