The Silent Strike

The dance was over, but the air between Seraphina and Adrian remained electric with tension. Adrian couldn't stop staring at her; he was drawn to her like a moth to a flame, unaware that this flame was meant to burn his world down. "You dance like someone who has practiced for a lifetime, Miss Lance," Adrian remarked, his eyes searching hers for a crack in the mask. "I’ve had to learn many things over the last three years, Mr. Malhotra," she replied coolly, gracefully stepping away from him. "Survival being the most important one." She turned and walked toward the bar, where Julian was waiting. As she passed a waiter, she signaled him with a slight nod. Within seconds, the large digital screen at the front of the ballroom—intended to show the Malhotra Group’s "Year of Success"—flickered. The room gasped. Instead of profit charts and charity photos, a series of leaked documents appeared. They were internal bank transfers showing illegal offshore accounts and forged signatures linked to Adrian’s latest merger. The guests began to whisper. Adrian’s face turned from tan to a ghostly white. "What is this? Turn it off!" he roared at his assistants. Seraphina stood at the edge of the crowd, sipping her champagne, watching him crumble. This is just the beginning, Adrian, she thought. I’m not just going to kill you; I’m going to make you lose everything you murdered me for. Adrian rushed to the stage, trying to control the damage, but the reporters in the room were already snapping photos. His reputation, the one thing he valued more than life, was being shredded in front of the city's elite. In the chaos, Seraphina leaned in and whispered to Julian, "The stock price will drop by 30% by morning. Are we ready to buy?" Julian looked at her with newfound respect. "The wolf is out of her cage. We start buying the shares at dawn." As Seraphina walked toward the exit, she felt Adrian’s eyes on her. He looked terrified, confused, and suspicious. She didn't look back. She had a empire to reclaim, and tonight was the first nail in his coffin.
