Claire
“What do you want to do today, babe?” Cooper asked, entering the kitchen with only a towel wrapped around his waist. “We can drive down to the bay. We haven’t done that in a long time.”
When he walked by me, he kissed me on the cheek before pouring himself a cup of coffee. Driving to San Francisco was over a two hour drive from my house, and if we stayed down there all day we wouldn’t get back until later. From the confrontation Cooper had with Mason yesterday it wouldn’t surprise me if he wanted to get me away just so I wouldn’t see him. All night I tossed and turned wondering if I’d made a mistake not meeting Mason when I had the chance. For the first time since I’d known him he actually seemed sincere with his plea. It was too late now.
