CEDRIC’S POV Another unnecessary feast has besieged the palace grounds again. Yes, I know. It's my birthday, but I can't even work up the excitement worthy of a celebrant. The magnificent ballroom is alive with activity. Maids and workmen are all over the place, getting it ready for the day. Shimmering gold linen draperies are being hung up, ornate sculptures, polished silver, gold, and glass wares are meticulously set up on an intentional arrangement of silver gilded tables. No doubt, today will have little to do with me. It will be another day for the elites of the kingdom to strut their stuff around and to size each other up.
