NELISSA’S POV I arrived at the palace a few minutes ago. With a cloak covered over my head, I push past the crowded porch, filled with beautifully dressed guests. It's ironic how everyone is dressed in their special regalia to grace the King's invitation which seems more like a fall from grace more than anything. With my heart thudding against my chest, I push past, hiding between two unsuspecting strangers as I make my way through the large mahogany double doors and soon, I am engulfed in bright lights shining from the chandeliers overhead. Music. Soft, beautiful music floats into my ears, laced with the chatters of guests, glass clinking against glass, the sound of metal against ceramic as forks scrape against plate surfaces.
