Alessandro POV
I arrived in New York City and I felt refreshed. I stepped out of the airport looking around for any sign of a hefty man with a cold face but I found none. I brought out my phone to call my father's ally again but I heard my name.
“Alessia” he called, he was just getting down from a sports car, his brown hair covering the side of his face. He is so tall that I had to look up at him, very young. I wasn't expecting this, I was expecting an old man like my father. He is so handsome that my heart is beating fast. What was that?
“Maximilian but call me Max” he said roughly and helped me to the car as I was still lost in daze. Maximilian. He came to get me at the airport himself? Nice!
As I got into the car with Maximilian, I couldn't help but notice the way he drove with confidence and precision. His eyes were fixed in the road, but I could sense a hint of curiosity in his demeanor.
"I saw you once, when you were younger" he started, he saw me? Then his father must have been my father's ally for a very long time.
"I've never seen you" I replied and he nodded and chuckled lightly.
"You were five, that was about fifteen years ago, correct?" He said and I nodded, yeah, I've never seen him before to be honest.
"I get you, your father protected you with his life and I'm sorry about your loss" he said and I nodded again looking away from his handsome manly face.
"Thank you" I muttered, trying to keep my emotions in check.
Maximilian glanced at me briefly before returning his attention to the road. "We'll get to the bottom of this," he said. "My father and yours had been allies for a very long time. We'll make sure justice is served"
I appreciated his words, but I couldn't shake off the feeling of uncertainty. I didn't know much about Maximilian or his family except that they are Mafia and powerful in New York City.
As we drove through the city, I took in the sights and sounds of New York City. It was a far cry from the estate I grew up in, and I felt a mix of excitement and trepidation.
Maximilian's phone rang, and he answered it. "Yes?" He said, listening intently. "Good, keep me updated"
He hung up the phone and turned to me. "We'll be arriving at my penthouse soon," he said. "You will be safe there for now," he added.
I nodded, feeling relief. Maybe, just maybe, I will be able to find some peace and safety in this new city.
As we pulled up to a sleek, modern building, I felt a sense of awe. The penthouse was stunning, with floor to ceiling windows and a breathtaking view of the city.
Maximilian led me inside, where I was greeted by his staff. They were efficient and discreet, and I appreciated their professionalism.
"Make yourself at home Alessia" Maximilian said, gesturing to the living area. "We'll discuss our plan of action soon," he said. "Got to get to work, see you at night. And if you need anything ask the maid or give me a call" he said smoothly before slipping out of the penthouse house. He drove out, making me wonder where he was going.
I walked around the penthouse and I didn't expect less at all. I explored the penthouse, I couldn't help but feel amazed. The decor was sleek and modern, with a neutral color palette that seemed to glow in the natural light. I wandered over to the windows and gazed out at the city view, feeling a sense of freedom that I hadn't experienced in a long time.
I spent the day getting familiar with the penthouse and its amenities. The maid, Maria, was friendly and helpful, showing me around and explaining the various features of the apartment. I appreciated her warmth and kindness, and I felt grateful to have her as a source of support in this new place.
The day wore on, I began to feel restless. I knew he said he would be back tonight but I couldn't shake the feeling that I needed to do something. I thought about my father's death and the betrayal that had led to it, and I felt a surge of anger at the moment.
I walked out of the penthouse with a casual black hoodie and jogger pants that I'm sure belong to Maximilian. I want to look around the city, what it looks like since I didn't get the advantage in Italy.
When the sun began to set, I made my way back to the penthouse. I was looking forward to seeing Maximilian and discussing our line of action. I'm very sure the road ahead is going to be difficult but the moment I know I choose revenge, I know that's my part and I will have it.
I entered the penthouse, I saw Maximilian standing in the living room, looking out at the city view. He turned to me as I approached, and I felt relief.
"Alessia" he called, his voice low and smooth. "You shouldn't have gone out without guard, it's dangerous out there”
I chuckled with my hand in the joggers pants using the side of my mouth to smirk.
“No one knows me over here, so it's not dangerous yet” I replied back, Maximilian nodded and gestured to me to follow him.
I followed him to a conference room, he sat on one of the chairs while I stood beside him looking around the room. I'm impressed.
“First thing first, I know Don Slayer trained you personally but you need more training on your emotions and combat before we think of any revenge” Maximilian said, my eyes came back to him staring into his soul and he stared back with the same intensity. I looked away first sitting on the chair adjacent to him.
“I'm in, how do we get started?”
