The day felt longer than usual.
After the field visits, everyone trudged back into college, tired but buzzing with stories from the trip.
Aanya, carrying her bag, scanned the campus for a familiar face.
And then she saw him — Rudra, standing on the rooftop, looking out over the city with his arms folded, the wind tousling his hair.
Her heart skipped. Without thinking, she climbed the stairs two at a time.
Aanya (calling out): “Rudra!”
He turned, a faint smile spreading across his face when he saw her.
Rudra: “I was wondering when you’d come find me.”
The moment she reached him, she threw her arms around his neck, holding him tight.
Aanya (teasingly): “You see? Two days without me, and you already missed me!”
Rudra (laughing, hugging her back): “Maybe I did. Or maybe I was just planning my revenge for leaving me behind.”
Aanya pulled back slightly, looking into his eyes.
Aanya: “Revenge, huh? And what’s the plan?”
Rudra: “Hmm… maybe start with a hug… then a warning kiss.”
Before she could protest, Rudra leaned down and pressed his lips to her forehead first, then cheek — playful, teasing — until she rolled her eyes and laughed.
Aanya: “Okay, that’s not fair. I didn’t sign up for all this.”
Rudra (grinning): “No one asked for your signature, Gang Queen.”
They both laughed, the tension from the past two days melting away. Rudra held her close, just enjoying the simplicity of the moment.
Aanya (softly): “I missed you… Rudra.”
Rudra (whispering): “And I missed you more than I’m willing to admit.”
🌫 Meanwhile… Somewhere Else
Raghav sat in the shadowy corner of a room, phone pressed to his ear.
> Raghav: “Everything is going according to plan. Soon, they’ll have no idea what hit them. Yes… make sure there’s no mistake this time.”
A sinister smile spread across his face.
Even while Rudra and Aanya enjoyed their reunion, danger was quietly gathering in the background.
The rooftop air was cool, the city below bustling, but up here, Rudra and Aanya felt like the world had shrunk to just them — their laughter, their teasing, their unspoken promises.
