The air on the Island smelled like salt and rose petals. The sun hadn’t fully risen yet, but the sky was already coloured gold, casting a soft glow over the endless stretch of water ahead. I stood barefoot in the sand, watching the waves licking my toes, I watched as a little sea turtle waddled onto the sandy beach, I smiled as it continued crawling towards the coconut trees that lined the island and for a moment, just a moment, I felt weightless.
