A companion is meant to be a creature friend that can assist with tasks and also be treated as a pet. The chances of a companion possessing a magical quality is less likely but it’s not completely unheard of. The reason a companion is given usually to someone who does a lot of travel, both domestic and abroad, on behalf of the Royal Court.

Some of the creatures are quite beautiful sights to behold; like the Axex, it’s one of the two breeds of Mimas found all over the duchy and is a mixture of lion with falcon.

Some are not as beautiful or as majestic but are just as interesting sights to behold; like the Colo colo, mixture of rat and bird that can shape shift into a serpent, or the Kurage, a jellyfish that floats like a fireball without the fire as it floats through the air.

There’s different types of dragons and other species of creatures that are mixtures of different animals; some creatures are mixtures of multiple animals, a good example of that would be a desert dwelling creature called the Ypotryll, which is a creature that mixes boar, camel, ox, and serpent.

There are several creatures that look exactly like some of the Zodiacs seen in the night sky; like the Leokampoi, the fish-tailed lion, Pardalokampoi, the fish-tailed panther, and the Capricornus, the fish-tailed sea goat to name a few. They’re all tamable and kept as pets, as well as, found in the wild.

The Huns are also very big animal lovers. The Royal Stables were filled with all sorts of creatures from around the realm and all around the realm there was stables. The Royal Stables at the castle is filled with different animals that are the private pets of the Hun Family. The other stables around the realm are for the domesticated creatures, like the two very different breeds of Mimas that are native to Makara, as well as the creature’s that are native to the waters around our islands.

The Abadas are rumored to be the Queen’s personal favorite animal in all of Makara. It’s a small horse like creature with two horns that come out of the top of its head similar to a unicorn and they are a dark tan color. Abadas are native to the Avesta Forest and there is some that are kept in the Royal Stables in Skirophorion and in the Royal Stables at Caserma.

The King’s rumored favorite animal is the Kesaran from Mount Avesta. It’s a creature that no one really knows what it looks like because it looks like a giant white cloud and does not like to get too close to anything except other creatures. This creature is the reason why the doorways for the stable have no actual doors on them and the ones that do have doors are always left open.

Kesaran are not really tamed creatures, but they just come and go as they please from the Royal Stables. Their portion of the stables actually looks like a giant bird’s nest up close to the ceiling that you have to climb a ladder to get to; not everyone is capable of climbing up that high, only certain human are allowed up there because they have to be specially trained. Most human that take care of the Kesaran stables usually don’t take care of any other creatures.

Mimas are unusual looking creatures that are better tempered compared to the horses and oxen used by human, depending on the breed that is. Mimas are among the most majestic creatures that reside in the Makara islands.

The one breed is called Axex. They are half falcon and half lion. The wings of the Axex are covered in feathers that appear to be larger versions of a falcon’s feathers and the fur that covers the Axex is similar to a lion’s fur but come in a variety of colors. Male Axex Mimas have a mane similar to that of a male lion that is dyed different colors depending on what service the Axex Mima is used for.

The other breed of Mima is called the Long Ma, this breed is considered the more desirable of the 2 breeds. They are half dragon and half horse. Both breeds have a set of wings in the middle of their backs that can get as large as three men lying head to fin on each side. The wings of the Long Ma is covered is dragon scales and has claws at the end of them. The legs and body of Long Mas are covered in horse-like hair but their legs are built like a dragon’s legs. Sometimes the Long Ma has dragon tail and sometimes they have a horse tail. The Long Mas scales are different colors depending on what that Long Ma’s natural ability is.

Unlike the empires on the mainland, Makara does not use creatures in the Trirmeme because it was seen as cruel and a form of s*****y; s*****y is illegal in Makara for all creatures and people living within its borders. Some people in Makara are known for breeding creatures as pets, companions, and familiars; which is allowed by law, but if someone is discovered to be mistreating the creatures in their care then they are given a live sentence in the Caserma, the jail in Makara, doing hard labor.
