The Last Form of Affinity

He left the place with the child. He took him to a cave and waited for him to wake up. Royue was just sitting in a corner while thinking deeply about how he was going to tell the boy what happened to his siblings when suddenly the boy screamed loudly as if he was scared to death. Royue immediately approached him to wake him up. Whatever the nightmare is about in its imagination. The child sweats are cold and continues to struggle in Royue's embrace.

"Don't! don't touch them! Father! Mother! ahhhhhh"

Royue didn't know what he was seeing but right now he was the only one beside him. He hugged him tightly.

"Sssh...hold on....everything will be fine."

Because of the warm embrace and careful massaging of hands on his back along with his gentle voice that made him feel at ease. Little by little, the boy felt that he was not alone. His whole person settled at the same time as he escape from the nightmare that kept on chasing him.

Even if he wants to open his eyes, his soul is slowly being absorbed into nothingness.

Royue felt that the boy in his arms got heavier again but he felt relief that he heard the child snore lightly. If the body is tired, the body will give in spontaneously, but he feels that he was calm and there are no bad dreams that disturb the little boy.

He took off the cloak he was wearing and carefully laid the child on it. He also made a fire so that it wouldn't be too cold. About three hours later the boy woke up. He slowly got up and noticed the soft fabric wrapped around his body.

"This gentleman, may I know who you are?"

The child as the unknown man in front of him nervously. The man looked at him and smiled slightly."My name is Royue, I swear that I meant no harm if ever you feel doubtful."

That slight smile and gentle voice somehow drowns the anxiousness in his heart. He fell silent. This man was his savior. He is only six years old but he understand the way of the world a little bit. A stranger saved him when he was about to meet his death. He thought about the violent curses he heard before that almost made him lost his mind. He can't help but ran back for he could at least protect his brothers for atleast a minute . Ruyue noticed his changing mood a feeling of deep sympathy invaded his soul . He was about to coax the child but he was cut off.

"It's all my fault! I was the one who harmed them all."

Royue frowned at what he said. For a young age like this, he didn't expect that it wasn't the kind of a crybaby who needs to be coax and pampered because of feeling anxious.

"Why do you think so?"

He grasped tightly to the cloth wrapped around his small and weak body as he stared intently at the smoldering fire.

"I have this special ability that everyone covets."

He looked at the man opposite him trying to find weird reaction. He wants to know if he can be trusted or not. He is steal in doubts if his matter can be spoken to him. In the end what can he do? His brothers were taken away without him knowing if they are still alive while he and his sister don't have anyone powerful enough to protect them. Sooner or later those people will find them and the choice to live or die already is taken forcibly away from them.

He glanced at Royue and sighed heavily.

He remained silent that urges the child to continue for he meant no harm and he is willing to listen no matter how confidential it is.

"We came from a prominent family. My mother and father lives in the one of the orthodox way of righteousness all their lives. We live happy and peaceful without worrying for food and everything until one day,I have this accident that changed our lives."

The child paused and his pale face slowly becomes even paler.

"I happen to cross paths with a person. My brothers and I were playing outside. I was running so fast when I tripped and that person happened to catch me. I was about to thank him but when I looked into his eyes..... I was horrified."

Going back to that time made his whole body tremble and his eyes became misty.

"I saw how....... he died miserably."

Hearing those words from a childs mouth, Royue looked at the child in shock. He can't help but gasp in disbelief. Such ability cannot really be underestimated. The number of diviners in this world is very rare that they can be only counted into three. As far as he know a crown prince from the major continent can divine but is very limited.

Divining can shorten life inexplicably. Other deviners requires the formations of stars and other things and a lot more but this one in front of him and see the future only by looking in the eyes. Suddenly the look in his eyes became complicated. Noticing the complicated gaze that landed on him,the child felt the sympathy of the other side so he continued despite his breathing becoming uneasy and the tears fell from his eyes smoothly.

"I saw many faces both familiar and unfamiliar some of them I have seen before. They were all high officials.... there's others too ...I think they're not human... they're are so scary ..I was so horrified. They killed too many people in front of that man and there's blood everywhere. I felt so anxious so I told him that he will die. I told him what I saw and his face was so ugly. He told me to hide and don't tell anyone what I saw. He in a hurry without looking back. After that incident our whole village where ravaged by demons. We woke up one night and it is burning everywhere. Our parents told us to run for our lives. My brothers took I and my sister away. We run to escape day and night for several days without having food and sleep for we are afraid that those demons will come after us. We were so tired until we reached this place. It is very exhausting. We tried to find a place but the people won't take us in so we begged on the streets for months. My sister is sick lately and my brother told me yesterday that they will buy her medicine. I didn't expect that this will happen."

The tears flows smoothly from his eyes. He felt like his world will collapse under his feet the next seconds.

Royue was stupefied at the amount of information he heard. The child looked very guilty and pitiful. For pete's sake his just a kid.

"Stop thinking too much.What made you think that you're the only reason for all of it to happen?It may be just a coincidence."

The child remained looking on the ground it's like there's something over there that can help deal with the pain in his heart his eyes blank.

"I saw it all once again in my dreams earlier."

Royue got annoyed with the childs attitude.

"Look into my eyes, can you see my future?"

The child got back to the senses and looked straight into the man's eyes. The cave was dark somehow with the illumination of the little burning fire in between the two of them.

Those eyes are dark and the flash of red and yellow can be seen due to the light of the fire. Aside from the cave can be seen the unrivalled will to defend,fight and protect burning in those eyes.

The child was stunned after seeing it. For now,he cannot see anything of this persons future this current time, for he still lacks control.

Royue knows that the child still lacks the ability to do so. The truth is it will really scare him to death if the child would be able to do so.It will be a big advantage for him but he will shorten the little ones life in exchange. How can he be able to take that?

( Stomach growling)

The silence was broken when the child's stomach rumbled. He blushed in shame and looked away but his stomach didn't care about the shame he felt.

Royue who was left with no choice but to find food for this child that had been sleeping for a while without eating and eating nor drinking water. Facing the face of this hot potato, he can't help but leave reluctantly.

" I will search for food. Hold this and if you happen to sense danger,crash that thing."

The child took the small cylinder and held it firmly in his palm. He nodded in agreement with Royue.

The latter walked outside the cave. When he was about 10 meters away he sense something strange. In a mere seconds his body went numb.

A shadow went passed him at an alarming speed and directly went inside the cave. He wasn't able to react until another few seconds later a loud cry was heard that made him go back to the senses and take action immediately. He can't help but curse in his mind.
