A New Friend

Today was a bit fine, weather was nice, the sun is shining, not too hot and not too cold. The clouds are beautiful, it was such a good thing, settling here. I don't regret leaving anything there, I just feel, happy.    I woke up and it’s been three days since me and Sean really talked. The vibe of my dorm wasn't really the same just after a day at a park, a day that was supposed to be relaxing and fun. And it was actually very calm but depressing. Talking about my life at school, academically, we have been given lots of work since it’s been two weeks of school and the teachers have already decompressed, finally waggling their tails and growing their horns, high-school teachers, really. It’s a Wednesday today so, I must say the professor gave us a lot of tasks to work on. And in addition to the stress my school has been giving me, it’s kind of problematic because this guy in front of me has been walking me to my classroom ever since.   "Kitten, you ready for school?" I ignored him and went outside the door.   He nodded, "See you later, Sean." I heard what he said even from a faint distance.   After the cafe or park event, the very next day, I was surprised that I saw him at my front door like a puppy waving its tail, smiling at me. At first, I even asked him what was his deal and he said that he just wants to do it since it’s been a while since he walked another individual to their classroom. And I don't know what his preferences are, but I just want to let him know that I'm not like his other bitches. And certainly not a b***h.   "Look, Trevis whatever the f**k it is that you want from me, just tell it. Is this what, sympathy?" I asked still walking because I don't want to be late to class.   "Kitten, you're too loud. Don't let them know you call me Trevis, you'll get anxieties again. Want to be the next top gossiped student?" He said, obviously provoking me with his tone and looking around suspiciously like there is any student at the hallway.   "Do not ever, lecture me about my mental health, Andre." With a hard growl, I said.   He grabbed my shoulder which made me stop, his grip was hard and firm, almost making me wonder how is he just a year older than me.   "You call me Trevis, alright. Trevis!" He said, shouting.   "Alright, f*****g Trevis. What do you want from me?" I said, trying to calm myself down.   "Good." He continued to walk and as confused as I am also walked behind him, like he's the one about to go to my class.   "Stop this, Trevor, whatever this is." I said and walked past him, arriving at the building not even batting an eye at him.   "Have a great day!" He shouted and I continued to get walk around the building and as usual I got so many looks, some looks at me at a nice way, some in a bad way, but I bet they are all curious. But I guess, I'm on the same page as them I am also getting my s**t together just to know what he is doing to me. Acting like I'm close to him, arrogant. Even ordering me like a dog to call him whatever his name is. Getting angry whenever he wants, so annoying.   "Hi." Someone beside me suddenly.   "Jesus! f*****g, why does people keep doing this to me?" I stopped walking and wiped my face in frustration.   "Sorry, about that. Didn't mean to startle you." The girl beside me said.   "Charlotte." She said and offered her hand.   "Promise me you won't be a pain in the ass, Charlotte." I said and shook her hand. Is hand shaking still a thing?   "Can't handle the boys around you? The duo?" She said, continuing to walk towards our classroom.   "A nickname, for the two of them exists? Cringe." I said making a disgusted face as we entered our classroom. Maybe making another friend isn't bad at all, maybe I need a break, from the three. It’s kind of hard to fit in with them.   "Class, this is the second week, and I figured you still haven't figured out who your friends are. Legend says it that, you cannot handle work alone, at all." The teacher begins.   Yeah, right. Perfect timing for me and Charlotte to be actually close, great just like a cool goddamn story I've read on the past. Everything in perfect place. But in real life I guess, it’s just a coincidence.   "Now, I want you to find a pair of yours, a trio is acceptable. To work on a report, a report on each other. Simply to know each other, and to grow closer. Now go, find someone." The teacher said.   Everyone has their eyes on me, making me uncomfortable at the moment. And everyone is standing up starts to get close at me, starts to mumble words, starts to ask me some questions like a celebrity.   "Now someone is famous." The professor said.   It’s getting louder and louder after a few seconds passes.   "Charlotte." I loudly called.   "Yes?" Charlotte answered in her seat which is a lot far from me.   "You. Be my partner." The chatter became silent, everyone went to return to their seats and settled with whoever is beside them whatsoever, I didn't really notice since I was only looking down the whole time.   "So, you realized?" Charlotte confidently arrogated.   "Who wouldn't?" I said, and we both listened to what the teacher or professor has to say. At the end of the class, I see the students looking outside, some look excited, some even squeals. Without even looking at the window I could recognize who there is.   "Let's go, Charlotte. Ignore those pumpkins." I said, walking out through the classroom's door. We got out of the door, and its late, two people are blocking the way. One smiling, the other, not so pleased to see me.   "Trevis, Sean doesn't even want to see me. What are you doing? We still have things to do.”   "We? Made a friend?" Trevis started. As soon as he spoke, I felt everyone's walking speed got a bit slower and it’s making me to uncomfortable, so I start trembling.   "And him," Trevis said, pointing at Sean, "he's the one that made me go here, not me—"   The latter part of what he said got blurry, so as my vision got poorer too. My head started to ache and I was trembling at some point and it went black.   I woke up, there was white everywhere. It smells like vanilla, but it’s so familiar. My vision came to a focus just to see Charlotte.   "Hey, drink some water." She handed me a glass of water, even assisting me to sit at the bed that I am currently lying down on.   "Where am I, what happened?" I asked her while gulping down the water immediately.   "It was like a television teen fiction drama earlier, Gab. The two of them even argued who would bring you here." Charlotte explained with a bright tone, but a curious face.   "Those two, I swear. You know, have long have you been in this, university?" I asked her, which made her eyes look straight into mine and smiled.   "Just a year before you, Gab. Why?" She said, and I smiled.   "Why are they, you know, famous?" I asked her, really fixing my eyes on here to show her that I really want to know.   "The two of them, they are famous on school parties, you may not know about it yet, or have you?”   "No, they don't, uhm honestly, two weeks being friends with them I know nothing about them. But I guess, they don't know about me either." I said, but she suddenly laughed.   "I doubt, Gab. I doubt they don't know anything about you. They are the best at knowing a person, specially, Andre. But anyways, it’s just the second week of school, so I guess the parties haven't started yet." She said and a knock on the door came, loud and clear.   I thought to myself, just how grand is this party, and why does it have such an impact on them. Is it because of their looks, or do they contribute a lot for alcoholic drinks, or are they both?   "Gab?" I heard a familiar voice, and I turned my eyes to the door and I saw it was Sean.   "Hey, uhm, you." Sean added.   "Charlotte." Charlotte introduced shortly.   "Yeah, Charlotte, could you please give us a minute." Sean said and Charlotte quietly walked away and left the room.   "Is this a hospital? She wasn't able to tell me where I am." I asked him, making him more at ease. I'm a very simple person, I don't want awkward atmospheres.   "Oh, this is the school's private hospital. I, no actually we brought you here." He explained and then I took my eyes away from him, waiting for him to say something.   "Me and Caryl broke up, Gab." He said making me turn on him.   "Because I like you." He added, unconsciously, I think.   Making me question everything that Charlotte has said to me.   "But w-why? I thought you and her are getting it good."   "I saw her, earlier. With Andre." A tear dropped. Suddenly and unconsciously, I opened my arms inviting him for a hug. Which he didn't take and its awkward.   "I hate hugs actually." He said, out of nowhere.   "Okay, no hugs. What were Andre and Caryl doing? Where did you see them?" I asked worriedly.   "At our dorm." He said, making me cover my mouth.   Fucking hell.
