A Friend(?)

1613 Words
Even after the orientation last week, Sean and I kept in touch, even though I really didn't even get a say on it. He just keeps appearing and appearing wherever I am. And he also seems famous around the campus, since I always hear his name being mentioned and I suddenly popped out of the students' conversations. I hope its not a bad thing, but I make sure that my boundaries are kept, I don't hang out with him when he is with his friends. Even though he does greet me when he is with his friends, I just smile back at him and pass by. Just like a normal person would do.   I just woke up from my bed, its Monday, getting ready to put my clothes on, brush my teeth, pick boring clothes for today's class because the classes start today, but what I did last week was mostly cleaning my room. The lady said I am lucky since I don't have a roommate yet when I was still cleaning my room because she said those people that have roommates when cleaning their rooms end up in bad terms, but I doubt that I really won't have a roommate. I'm sure that he's just right there—   The door suddenly opened.   "Sean?" I blurt out when I saw the face of the person who's coming inside of the room.   "Gab?" His tone was very confused and shocked at the same time, the expression on his face is puzzling, its as if he had seen a ghost.   "What? Why, what's the matter?" I said while he suddenly gathered himself calmly and gulped.   "Who's that Sean? Babe? Why won't you let me in?" Coming from an annoyed girl, whom obviously is his girlfriend, and at this point I was like oh… but not that kind of oh... but oh...   He smiled at me awkwardly and I immediately conversed, "Didn't knew you had a girlfriend, have, actually." I bit my lip shortly and I smiled.   "Yeah, I wasn't really able to tell you about her." He said awkwardly.   "Come on man, you had every chance since last week. You even wave at me whenever we see each other." Why do I feel like I need him to explain what happened, am I actually getting delulu—that's what my old friends call it when someone is too delusional.   I just had some past issues with guys.   "Sorry, Gab. I totally should've told you first." He apologized.   "Babe what the f**k is this drama? Who is he?" The girl said, sounding very hurried.   "Caryl, this is Gab, my friend. Gab my girlfriend, Caryl." He hurriedly introduced.   I waved at the girl, but the girl just rolled her eyes on me, we are about on the same height around a hundred seventy centimeters? This Sean dude is hella tall though.   "No, Sean you don't need to explain man. Its just kinda of shocking, so what are you doing here?" I asked.   "I'm your roommate, Gab." My jaw literally dropped. Am I lucky? What lucky? Just because he's already a friend? This is just a coincidence, right? He was shocked too, that I'm his roommate, kinda fishy, but I guess…   I'll let it pass.   I left the room awkwardly and obviously I have to leave them. And I let them do their business inside the room, whatever it is. But I can't stop thinking about what he did to me last week, damn, even offering me that he should be beside me when I wasn't obviously feeling well. Who doesn't fall for that? My sexuality is now even on a crisis.   That bastard I swear—   "Ow!" The next thing I knew I'm on the floor on top of this giant jock. Dark brown eyes, perfectly shaped brows, good eyes—   "Are you okay?" He asked me immediately.   "Sorry I wasn't really looking." I apologized immediately.   "Come on man, you gotta be careful, f**k I was startled." Then I realized our position, I suddenly stood up and noticed that my face is heating up, my whole body in fact.   "You new here?" He added.   "Yes. Gabriel, Call me Gab." I held out my hand.   "Andre. Handshake's kinda weird these days but I guess I'll give it to you." He shook my hand and everything was kind of weird after that.   "So uh, I'll get going I guess, Andre."   "Sure, Gab."   Fuck that was Andre? He didn't even recognize me? I thought he was Sean's best-friend, and I see them together too, but I even acted like I don't know him even though I always see Sean with him, and I know for sure that he sees me with Sean a lot too. So why the acting? Is it because people are watching?   I was on my way to the lobby to get what I ordered from a Chinese restaurant. Wanting to eat it at the lobby too. And wow, heaven. I just enjoyed the food and as I finished the bowl in front of me, too many people are staring at me. Kinda making me an ious not gonna lie. But, food first, and voila, I finished my food.   I was on my way to the trash bin while I was working everything through my head again about Andre earlier when suddenly I bumped into Sean, again.   "Gab, sorry about earlier, I didn't think you were my roommate." I sighed at his sentence.   "What are you sorry for, seriously you're making me guilty. Are you guilt-tripping me?" I laughed to ease the tension. "And why are you so tensed, Sean. So what? Everyone has a girlfriend."   "I don't love her." I immediately covered his mouth.   "You don't break a girl's heart like that, you fucker. You should tell it to her not me, what if she heard." I said to him, almost whispering. We were getting looks from other students as usual.   "And come on Sean, isn't it illegal to bring girls in the boys' dormitory?" I sighed again.   "You keep sighing, do you have breathing problems?" He laughed. I glanced at him, not taking his joke.   "Alright, it is illegal but you could get a pass from the lady." He pointed at the keeper of the dorm.   "Didn't know that." I sighed again.   "You don't have girls." He sighed.   "What did you say?" I looked at him.   "Nothing, see you somewhere."   I rolled my eyes, as I saw him run away from my spot. Suddenly, I remember that I have class. I went to my locker and got some handbooks for chemistry. God, I hate studying. But being a top-notcher since my parents made me isn't easy to maintain at all. My parents always have high expectations for me. Thanks to my parents, I'm a top-notcher and a virgin at school. I hate my life seriously, what's those medals, when I can't get myself a partner. That's why I'm kinda looking forward with this university. Hoping it changes my life. A new beginning a fresh start.   Walking through the many building of this university, I already memorized all the spots that this school has. Even Sean and his friends hiding spots, kinda special, don't you think? After some serious walking, I have arrived at my classroom that I would have to spend a semester in. Surprisingly, these faces are already familiar, I think I have seen some looking at me and Sean during the orientation last week. Didn't knew they were my classmates.   I walked into my seat and suddenly I saw a tall figure outside my door. Its Sean, with Andre? What's he doing here? Did they know my room or did they follow me?   "Gabriel. Gab, where is he?" Sean shouted at the door of our classroom. What the f**k is he doing? This is so f*****g embarrassing.   "What the f**k, Sean?" I said half jokingly, 'cause I'm really embarrassed.   "What? Gotta wish my friend good luck before starting his school." He said as I walk towards the door, still not lowering his voice. Gosh this is so embarrassing from the bottom of my heart.   "Do I really need to be here, Sean?" Andre hissed.   Andre looked at me when I arrived at the door, and I returned his gaze. We were staring at each other for almost five seconds.   "Oh, what's this? You two already met?" Sean asked.   "Not really, this clumsy person bumped into me earlier when I was on my way to your room." He said and I hissed.   "I thought your personality would be better than that since you f*****g said sorry to me earlier when I bumped into you but, now you're showing me attitude. And that's also my room, we're roommates." I said not even breathing while saying everything at him.   "Wow, thought you were rapping." Andre said, chuckling a little.   "f*****g i***t. You, what do you need?" I turned to Sean, who was obviously startled with the way I called him.   "Brought you a bottle of water. And you have the keys to our room. The lady said you have both?" He said carefully handling me the bottle water.   "I think its in my bag, wait come here." I dragged Sean by his hand, and everyone stopped, and suddenly squeaked. To my surprise, I all looked at them confused and just continued to bring Sean and Andre to my seat.   "Let me just find it for a second here." I said while searching my bag. Suddenly a hand helped me, it was Andre.   "You're kinda slow, kitten." He complained.   "Excuse me?" I said in shock.   "Kitten." He chuckled, leaving me and everyone else shocked.   What?
