A Letter and A Knock

1631 Words
A calm light coming from the sun, the faint sound of students talking along the corridor outside, and two people hanging out in this room alone, and me just sitting at my bed looking at the two act so close, like their friendship isn't at the edge these past few days.   "I guess you both made up?" I asked, looking at the two with an annoying look.   The two of them are playing a video game with their phones and the sound was kind of loud to fill up the whole room, but not that loud to make me irritated.   "Oh, you're awake, Gab. Good morning, kitten." He looked at me with a smile on his face, and for a split second, I was very flustered and I could feel my heart beating so fast and loud that it’s scaring me a lot. It’s as fast as how the water from the falls, fall down.   "What do you want to eat?" Sean suddenly said, cutting off my thoughts as he also smiled at me.   I stood up from my seat, carefully steering my eyes with the foods that are supposed to be my options, "You only have chips." I said with an annoyed tone.   "Don't be such a kitten, baby, of course we will buy you food." Andre said which made me flip out in awe.   "What did you call me?" I said, and Sean obviously heard it too as he also steered his eyes to Andre.   "Kitten." He said, defensively.   "I'm sure that wasn't what I heard." I said, being surely confident.   "I didn't hear anything." Sean said which made me disappointed, and annoyed at the same time.   "See? No evidence, no shite." Andre said with a British accent.   "What the f**k?" I said and burst into laughter, as the two of them followed. As we all stop, I suddenly thought of our project, we still have to practice how to report it.   "Should I call Charlotte? We have something to do but maybe we should eat here first." I said, and no one answered the two acted busy with their game.   I rolled my eyes and started to find my phone and as I found it under my bed, I see a paper underneath my pillow.   "Hi kitten, meet me tonight at the cafe, 8 A.M. sharp. I have something to say to you."   I suddenly forgot all the thoughts I was currently having, trying to look at the side of Andre, it’s obvious that its him because its written clearly, kitten. I hate to admit it but I'm currently liking that he's calling me kitten and its annoying.   I paused.   What was I about to do?   Right! Charlotte, I picked up my phone and put the paper inside my pocket, I hurriedly dialed her phone number.   "Kind of early, don't you think, Gab?" Charlotte said at the other line.   "Come here, we have to practice our little project. And I have something to say to you." I said, acting like a kid excitedly waiting for the ice cream truck outside.   "Okay, I'll be there in 30." Charlotte said, groaning.   "Andre and Sean will be ordering food! So come!" I said, giggling. I ended the call and I felt an aura behind me.   "You said my name." Andre in front of me, sulking with a dark toned voice.   "She doesn't know you as Trevis, I'll call you Trevis when I'm talking to you."   "No. You have to tell everyone that I'm Trevis, but they can't call me that." He said, totally ruining the atmosphere.   "Okay, Trevis, if that's what you want." He immediately smiled and on the other hand I'm relieved that he dropped down the topic that could actually get in bad terms with him.   I glanced at him annoyingly and he met my eyes with another annoyed eyes. I looked away and he also looked away.   What kind of person wants to be called different anyway? f*****g weirdo.   "What did you say?" Andre said, in an angry tone.   I smiled, fake laughing, "Nothing, continue with your game, Trevis." I hardened my pronunciation as I mentioned his name.   "We still have to order food if Charlotte is coming." Sean said, breaking the tense.   I remembered Charlotte suddenly because she was mentioned then I hurried them to order because 5 minutes has already passed and they know that delivery these days is kind of slow.   "Pizza?" Sean asked, asking for permission as he was looking at me.   "Yeah, just be order whatever flavor there is." Andre answered instead.   Then at the exact same moment Andre answered Sean, someone knocked on the door.   "I'll get it." Andre volunteered.   After a few seconds, there was no noise of someone coming inside but I can see Andre just holding the door looking down.   "Sean, come here." Andre said in a calm tone but I could feel the tension suddenly get heavy as he spoke the latter.   "What is it?" I asked started to get up because of how they are acting.   The two of them immediately left the door, and closed it. After the silence the two of them just got back with the game that they are playing, acting very suspicious and acting like nothing happened.   "You're scaring me. Both." I said, suspiciously looking at them.   Another knock was heard from the door, I made sure to get to the door. The two of them were immediately at my back, Sean's hand immediately within my shoulder. As if they were expecting for something to happen. But to my surprise it was just Charlotte.   "Hey, woah what's with the two bodyguards?" Charlotte wondered.   "I know right the two boys here are acting so weird."   "Men." The two of them said at the same time, correcting my sentence. I let out my tongue as I faced them for a second and went back to Charlotte. I finally went inside for Charlotte to also come in.   "How'd you come inside the dorm? You got a pass?" I asked, hurriedly sitting down within my bed.   "Yeah weirdly, I did get a pass. The lady said that they were expecting me so yeah, I got a pass." She said, even acting surprised.   "The lady said you were expected?" I said loudly, the two boys from the other bed looking at me, and just smiled and just played again.   So we practiced for a bit as Charlotte opened the laptop and the two boys just continued to play, at some point it was very distracting but when we asked them to tone down, everything was smooth. But I felt a groan coming from my stomach. I let out another moan because I was so hungry and nothing was coming inside my mind and I feel sorry for Charlotte who did all this trouble just to make me pass this little project.   "Trevis, I'm hungry. Sean." I called out the both of them, Sean immediately looked at his phone.   "Calm down, Gab. The driver said he'll arrive in five minutes." Sean explained and dropped his phone making me sigh.   What should I do within the five minutes just sit down and die with hunger?   "Come on kitten, want to eat something else?" He looked at me with a mischievous smile and I turned my middle finger at him and said, "Eat this."   "As you wish." He acted like standing up but I laughed and just lost the game he started.   "Come on, Gab. I thought we were going to practice." Charlotte groaned.   "Aren't you hungry?" I asked her.   "I am. But I have a class to attend in 30 minutes." She explained why she was kind of hurrying.   "You have class? And you were lecturing me how early I got you to wake up earlier." I said and rolled my eyes at her.   "Well, it’s been an hour, and an extra hour of sleep is very crucial to me." She explained.   The loud noises were stopped with a knock, three times that people knocked in this door today. Expecting it was the pizza I was so excited.   Sean answered the door this time and alas, it was the pizza I was smelling. Andre gave his card to Sean and I guess they paid for the pizza. I don't even have time to think about but the next second I'm here eating pizza.   "You don't have class, Gab?" Charlotte asked me while eating.   "I don't but I have a very early class tomorrow."   "It a Thursday today, weird." Sean said.   "You're skipping classes kitten, I guess you were a wildcat all along." Andre said not even defending me.   "Don't act like you haven’t experienced this last year." I said, looking at him with slightly suspicious eyes.   "But seriously, the both of you. You got again so well. What happened with Caryl?" I asked again.   "You talk too much, Jon Snow." Andre said.   "It’s actually, you know nothing, Jon Snow, Trevis." I said, bluffing.   "Yeah, both could be applied with the latter, kitten." He defended himself.   "I have to go to class. Meet me at the cafe later at 6 PM sharp." Charlotte said hurriedly.   I nodded and smiled at her.   "Your friend. She's weird." Sean started.   "It’s not good to talk about someone behind their back." I immediately cancelled his sentence.   "You'll never know, kitten." Andre said.   I turned to him and of course, I was obviously weirded with their choice of words and towards to the only friend I have in this school beside them. Just what do they know?   Even Charlotte said bad things about them behind their back. And to think of it, they don't even talk when we are hanging out.
