As our feet hit the springy moss of the forest floor, Lily beckoned to me silently and we crept our way through the trees, Lily leading the way, her senses on alert for any possible enemies. Carefully picking our way through the dense tree trunks, we repeatedly froze at every sound around us that seemed to be magnified in the darkness. The trees rustled in the soft wind that blew past us making me shiver slightly, the occasional snap of a twig heightening my nerves as I stared around trying to make out shapes in the gloom around us. ‘Lily, are you sure we are heading in the right direction?’ I muttered after a few minutes of walking. ‘I’m doing my best Brandon, we’ve got to stumble across the pack house sooner or later, the damn forest isn’t that big’ Lily replied with a hiss.
