Ghostly assault

Austin's expression turned guarded, and he hesitated for a moment before responding. "I'm just passing through," he said, his voice neutral. Seline's eyes narrowed slightly, sensing that there was more to Austin's story than he was letting on. But she didn't press the issue, instead, she asked, "What do you think about what Lena said?" Austin's gaze swept the surrounding area, his eyes scanning for any signs of danger. "I think we should be careful," he said, his voice low and serious. "Lena's words may be cryptic, but they sound like a warning." Seline nodded, her mind racing with possibilities. What did Lena mean by her words? And what lay ahead for her? As they walked in silence, Seline couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. She was caught up in something bigger than herself, and she wasn't sure if she was ready for what was coming. But with Austin by her side, she felt a sense of reassurance, a sense that she wasn't alone in this. "Thanks for being here with me," Seline said, her voice barely above a whisper. Austin's gaze locked onto hers, and he nodded slightly. "I'm not going anywhere," he said, his voice firm. Seline's heart skipped a beat as she met his gaze, feeling a spark of connection that she couldn't ignore. What was happening between them? And where would this journey take them? As Seline and Austin walked, the silence between them grew thicker, like a palpable fog. Seline's mind was still reeling from Lena's words, and she couldn't shake off the feeling that her life was about to take a drastic turn. Suddenly, Austin's phone buzzed, breaking the silence. He glanced at the screen, his expression unreadable. "We need to go," he said, his voice low and urgent. Seline's heart skipped a beat as she followed him, her senses on high alert. Where were they going? And what was happening? As they arrived at a secluded spot, Seline saw a group of people gathered around a fire. Austin nodded toward them, and Seline's eyes widened as she recognized one of them - Jake, the old man who had warned her about Lena. "Welcome, Seline," Jake said, his eyes twinkling with warmth. "We've been expecting you." Seline's gaze swept the group, and that's when she saw him - the alpha, standing tall and proud, his eyes locked onto hers. She felt a strange attraction to him, a sense of connection that she couldn't explain. "My name is Austin," the alpha said, his voice deep and commanding. "And you, Seline, are a part of our pack." Seline's mind reeled as she processed Austin's words. A pack? What did he mean? And why did she feel this strange attraction to him? As Austin's eyes locked onto hers, Seline felt a spark of electricity run through her body. She knew that her life was about to change in ways she never thought possible, and she wasn't sure if she was ready for what lay ahead. Seline's hands moved swiftly as she cleaned up the café, her mind focused on the task at hand. She needed to get paid today to pay off her rent, and she couldn't afford any distractions. As the night wore on, the café emptied out, and Seline was left alone to finish her chores. She bundled up the trash and stepped outside, the cool night air a welcome respite from the warmth of the café. But as she looked around, she saw them - the panther shifters, their eyes glowing in the dark. Seline's instincts kicked in, and she reached deep within herself, calling upon her witch abilities to defend her. The shifters snarled and attacked, their claws swiping through the air. Seline raised her hands, and a blast of magic shot out, striking one of the shifters and sending him flying. But she was outnumbered, and despite her best efforts, the shifters managed to overpower her. One of them landed a vicious swipe, and Seline felt a searing pain in her side. She stumbled back, her vision blurring. Just as the shifters were about to deliver the final blow, a snarling mass of fur burst onto the scene. The wolf Alpha, Austin, tore through the shifters, his jaws snapping shut around one of their throats. The others fled, and Austin turned to Seline, his eyes locked onto hers. Seline tried to speak, but her voice was barely a whisper. Austin rushed to her side, his face twisted with concern. "Seline, oh god, you're hurt bad," he said, his voice rough with worry. Seline felt herself being lifted into Austin's arms, and she knew she was safe. But as she looked down at her side, she saw the extent of her injuries. She was bleeding profusely, and she knew she needed medical attention - fast. Austin's face was set in a determined expression as he carried her away from the scene. "I'll get you to a safe place," he said, his voice firm. "You'll be okay, Seline. I promise." Austin's hands moved gently as he cleaned Seline's wound, his face set in a focused expression. Seline winced in pain, but Austin's touch was surprisingly gentle. "I'm sorry," Austin said, his voice soft. "I know this hurts." Seline nodded, her eyes locked onto Austin's. "It's okay," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Thank you for saving me." Austin's gaze met hers, and for a moment, they just looked at each other. Seline felt a sense of connection with Austin, a sense of gratitude that went beyond words. As Austin continued to clean and dress her wound, Seline couldn't help but notice the way he moved with a quiet confidence, his hands sure and steady. She felt a sense of safety with him, a sense of protection that she hadn't felt in a long time. "Who are you?" Seline asked, her voice a little stronger now. "And why did you save me?" Austin's gaze met hers, and he smiled slightly. "My name is Austin," he said. "And I'm the Alpha of this pack. I saved you because...well, let's just say I couldn't let those shifters hurt you.
